  1. Hi Sasi, Well what can I add that others haven't already sounded off? I just want to tell you that the feelings you are having right now are nothing different than majority of us had pre-surgery. I even had them, especially since this was going to be my SECOND WLS!! I was so scared of failing AGAIN and didn't want to go through the disappointment and agony that goes along with it. I was extremely depressed and felt so hopeless. But you know what? I pulled up my bootstraps and jumped with both feet in!! I figured, it really couldn't get any worse. I knew I had to do something and the time had come to turn my whole life around. All the stories here filled me with such hope that I could make my goals and finally be free from food AND OBESITY!! Today it holds more truth because I AM LIVING IT!!! I know your reasons for feeling the way you do go way deeper than silly protein shakes. There are so many factors that go into our daily lives, and some I'm sure you haven't even shared with us. Just know that things will never change for you unless you take that step for a better you. What are the chances you become critically ill by staying obese and unhealthy? I'm sure they are a great deal higher than if you went through with this surgery and nipped it in the bud now. In a year you will be fit, full of health and your children will have a Mom who can keep up with them and enhance their lives as well. Everything you are considering and doing right now for YOU will be worth every second of misery that goes along with this surgery. However only YOU can make that final choice on how you are going to handle your obesity. Keep us updated. Just remember YOU ARE WORTH A BETTER, HAPPIER, HEALTHIER AND MORE FIT YOU. The rest will follow. Blessings!!
  2. I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. Big hugs to you, and wishing you all the best on your new journey. You have to do what you have to for your health, and if that's getting the GBP, then that's what you should do. I've seen a great deal many success stories with the BP too, so I'm rooting for you. Thinnertimes.com is a great message board for RNY patients. They have a lot there, and I'm sure they will be a great resource tool for you. You are always welcome here too, regardless! Good luck!!!
  3. Here is the ticker tutorial, hope it helps. http://www.verticals...-with-pictures/ Congrats on your impressive weight loss, you are doing excellent!!!
  4. CONGRATS TO YOU!! You will find that you will be flying through the sizes. Better to pick new goal clothes that are more than just 1 size too small. You'll be fitting the next size down in weeks.
  5. This is not the first time I've heard of this. However, me personally, my surgeon (BBJ and I had the same one) was one of the more conservative Post Op diet plans. I honestly took it even slower because I just couldn't tolerate a whole lot right off the bat. Nothing wrong at all with taking your time. It's better to go too slow than too fast. However if you find that you can eat more easily by following your guidelines, then I guess for you it is OK. Good luck!!
  6. Julissa, you ARE making the right decision!! I am a revision from band to sleeve... and I just can't say enough wonderful things about the sleeve. The differences are like day and night. Check out our Revision from Band to Sleeve subforum. You will find some VERY uplifting and inspiring stories there. Life is not over after the band, promise!! In fact it has only just begun.
  7. I have some I choose to tell and some I don't. I really don't feel the need to go into detail on why I choose who I do, just to say that there is no right or wrong answer. Frankly, it's not Tom Dick and Harry's business what I do to my body. If I gave two flips about them, they would know. If you don't know, you best be tootin I don't think about you much. Everyone who is anyone important to me knows everything about me. One thing I am not is a liar. I do not go out of my way to deceive others, nor am I delusional. I recognize when credit is due, and if someone who is genuine and REALLY cares asks what I've done to lose weight, I will converse with them on EVERYTHING. If not, you will be an afterthought and I'll move on to the next subject. What it all really boils down to is the desire to tell others is a very personal decision. If one decides they want to tell others, fine. If someone decides they only want to tell their husband or wife and no one else, fine. Or if you are like me, somwhere in between, fine. This is not a cookie cutter situation, nor should it be treated as one.
  8. Hey C!!!! Wow you're such a motivation and inspiration here!!! I love how you say you're not the angry, jealous, depressed fat chick anymore - because I can completely and utterly relate to this sentiment and I still have about 60 lbs to lose!!! I can just imagine how much more wonderful my life would be when I get there. It is so true, this surgery IS as close as it gets to a miracle. Hugs and BIG CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!! Do you hear that Pre Sleevers??? RUN DON'T WALK!!!! Your life will be forever changed and you will be just as happy as those who are at goal and those like me who can *finally* see hope and end in sight. :D :D
  9. Fabulous!!! Isn't the sleeve just great???
  10. Whoa... sorry you had to go through that!! That sounds awful, scary!! I'm glad you're ok though now... Hugs!!!
  11. Whooooootttt!!!!! So glad your stall gave!!! Hugs and many many more pounds in your favor!!
  12. I just heard about this not too long ago. It does sound interesting. I mean, it sure couldn't hurt to take the small hop before leaping over the moon!!
  13. Of course you will miss your babies while you are gone, its a very natural feeling. Just think though, by doing this you are preventing having to leave your babies forever. I know, maybe that's not something any of us like thinking about, but staying obese is such a bad choice. I know you are definitely going through with it, you bought the cashier's check. That is putting the final lid on it. I'm just trying to ease the anxiety for you right now. Stay focused on all the positives that will result by taking charge of your life and squashing the burden that is food in our lives. Many blessings!! You will do fine, absolutely and positively. Hang in there and take care of yourself first, then everything else will follow.
  14. I wanna see those teens BAD!!! I'm gonna work this challenge every single day. :-) ____________________________________________ SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal LilMissDiva.....221.8...............220.2...........199.8.........20.4
  15. Sorry I can not in good conscience advise anyone to go against their surgeons guidelines. My suggestion would be to talk to your Doc one on one and hash it out. Sometimes the Doc will give some personalized advice that way. Good luck!!!
  16. Congratulation on reaching such a ONEderful milestone!!! I'm also so sorry to hear about your problems and leak. I really hope you can get to healing very soon, so you can enjoy your progresses 100% without worry. Hugs!!!
  17. Hi Angela, congrats on your new sleeve! The only thing you can do every single day is hang in there. It's not going to be easy, but you're strong and you can get through this. Every time you see the cake and it's telling you "Oh it will be ok, you can just have one itty bitty bite", just think about how much longer it will take you to get to your ultimate goal by doing just that. So far you're doing really good! I go through it too. Most of the time I can control, well sometimes its not as easy. All the best!!!!
  18. Hooorayyy Sarah!!! Rock on sister!!! Hey, it's always a preference on where we should end up. Where ever you feel comfortable, feel you look your best and you are healthy, I say go for it. Blessings!!!
  19. ((((coops)))) THANK YOU FROM ACCROSS THE POND!!! I have to tell you, I started running back when I was banded and I was hooked immediately! Once the weight started piling back on though it became difficult until my knee gave out... Finding out it was arthritis and from then on I couldn't run anymore. Then the weight piled back on with a vengeance. It was such a depressive time for me... Uggghhhh!!! But, I'm back on that saddle, weighing MUCH less now than when I was my lowest band weight and life's just freakin fantastic now. Keep it up lady! I think you're doing marvelous!! You WILL be able to run. Have you tried the Couch 2 5K? It's been super helpful for me right now as I train to NOT use my handrails on my treadmill. Good luck!!
  20. LOL!!! Those are really great NSV's!! Keep on sleeve brother before you know it those ladies are gonna be bustin down your door!
  21. Sending you well wishes and many prayers!! I'm sure you'll do fine, you're a tough lady. Though the reasons behind it aren't the best, losing 2 dress sizes overnight is something to be happy about! One thing though, I'm sure naming and it posting on FB would be one heck of a converstion piece! LOL Hang in there, and please let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.
  22. Hi Jeffrey, welcome to the BEST support website for the Vertical Sleeve... I just wrote about my recent experiences with Band Vs Sleeve. I was revised on 9/15/10 and to date it is the best thing I've ever done. In going further, we do have a LOT of well established sleevers here who like to continue chiming in. They are all a great help, and none I've seen ever stop Loving their sleeves. Good luck to you!! Here is the link to my last 2 progress posts: 5 Months Post Op and My Revision is the Best Thing
