  1. I just have a laptop. As you said, hitting enter does nothing for me either.
  2. I know it's not just me because I see other people adding lines between their sentences. When I go to comment to a post, whether I do a quick reply, advanced, or start new topic I cannot get it to let me add any spaces in between my paragraphs. I have to run my whole thought together into one lump of a comment. Granted I don't have the best sentence structure and grammar but I do like to break up my topics a little into paragraphs so it's easier for everyone reading my posts. Is it some newbie thing that until I make a certain amount of posts I don't get that option or is there something in my settings I need to turn on? I find it quite frustrating (yeah I know, a weird thing to find frustrating)
  3. I too was banded on 1/31/13. Slept in my bed the night of surgery. I am a side sleeper predominantly but since getting the band I've been on my back like a turtle in bed. Lucky for me after the first night I was able to lay flat but even on day 5 it's not comfortable for me to sleep on my sides yet. I can lay on them for a few minutes but then I have to get off them. It's a 50/50 thing on my part I think. Part discomfort (not so much pain) and part mental block telling me hey yahoo...you just had surgery 5 days ago, stop putting that kind of stress on those incisions by laying on your side, do you want to tear one of them open???? So 5-15 minutes later I am back on my back
  4. Thanks everyone. I should have known yesterday was too good to be true with no pain from the surgery lol. Today isn't too bad though. The pain in manageable and I've only hit the liquid pain meds the surgical center gave me once so far today. I am glad I took some time off from work though instead of going back on Monday. I think I'd of been sort of miserable at my job and not got much accomplished. I went ahead and took this upcoming week off. Been wanting to get some stuff around the house done so I figured now was a good time to take off. Anyways...my doctor doesn't seem to be as strict as some as yours. It's funny how the diets vary from doctor to doctor. Of course I am on a liquids only diet however I am not on clear liquids. In addition to my water, broth, jello and popsicles I can have my protein shake, skim milk, and sugar free cool whip to go with my jello if I want. After day 5 I move up to pureed soups and baby food consistency and I stay there for about 2 weeks till I start introducing somewhat solid food. My hunger is well managed but I think that is due to my protein shakes, I do fell sorry for the folks out there who are still doing the clear liquid diet only.
  5. Hey all, I joined a little while ago and have sort of lurked about reading threads leading up to my surgery. I was banded yesterday by Dr. Malley in Kansas City. Everything went great, surgery took around 30 minutes and I was up and walking in another 30. No pain meds other than what they gave me during the operation until right before bed last night. Today I am more sore but it's manageable. I'm on clear liquids for another 4 days then I can add in some pureed soups and what not in but I'm sure everyone here knows more about what I can eat than I do. I'm looking forward to this journey ahead of me, but right now I just want to heal from the surgery. I'm trying to do all I'm told to speed recovery time so I can turn my focus to weight loss and not healing from the operation itself.
  6. I'll be joining the 31st club to it seems. My lap band surgery is scheduled for January 31st and I'm excited. The pre-op diet sorta sucks but it's a short roadblock to get past.
