Compliment Chain
BigPaul always makes me feel really good about myself. He's funny and silly but really smart right when you need him to be. DeLarla TellyMelly keeps me motivated on days I think I want to slack and theres always a smile on my face when I'm talking to her, she just keeps me laughing. She brightens my day! Cutiern reminds me of my daughter. I love how she is young, independent, and willing to make financial sacrifices to change her life. Dawg is a great husband. Selfless and supportive. He lives a banded lifestyle, without the band, so that he may succeed along side his wife. Pennie always seems so level-headed and diplomatic. I really admire that. Jack cracks me up with the use of his warped sense of humour in the manner in which he offers practical advice. Humour and practicalilty...great match and I always appreciate his input. (I also like his avatar!!) The best me (Kathy) has one of the most loving and tender hearts I've ever seen. She is always caring and giving to others even when she's needing support for herself. Her love of God and her desire to be a better servant shows in every post. Paula is my sweet Band-daughter and I'm so proud of how genuinely sweet she is and how her caring heart and love of God shows by her actions towards all others Iluvharleys has a good heart and is always so thoughtful, kind and caring always thinking of others in their time of need. NJChick (Eileen) Cracks me up!!!! She brings a smile to my face no matter what the topic. Bandland would be a boring place without her : - ) VinesQueen reminds me never to give up no matter how bad things seem at the time and encourages me that I should dance my heart out no matter whos watching~and I wish she would hurry up and get back on LBT!!!

Does anyone here Home School?
okies I I homeschooled my 2 kids for Pre-K (non mandatory here in Tx) and in 1st grade. then they went to a charter school then we moved out to country and they go to public school now. when My daughter was in 2nd grade going to that charter school she started falling behind, My son too where as before he knew all his abc's colors etc after a year in that school he had lost more than 1/2 of them! Arg! Anyhoo thats off the main subject here "My daughter"... Okay so they passed her to 3rd grade with the multigrade classrooms she would be doing 2nd grade reading w/ special Ed that year. We moved to Round rock TX and that school put her in 2nd grade. I did not know better at the time to throw a fit because she had never actually failed the grade. She did 2nd grade again w/ special ed. Passed onto 3rd where we bought a home here in Elgin TX. She started 3rd I asked about what happened to her after I found out a friend of mine here in the neighborhood has a daughter who is is 6th grade doing 3rd grade work....Tell me how thats right?!? My girl never even failed. She was still in special ed and they talked about placement but nothing ever happened. Now... This year she started 4th grade. In Oct. I contacted the school about moving her to the correct grade w/ special ed and they told me it would be around Dec. I was okay w/ that 1/2 4th grade 1/2 5th w/ special ed sounded okay to me, ya? We even spent 12K in student loans to send her to Sylvan for this year, so she would be ready for 5th grade in Dec. So Dec came and gone no call backs to my calls. We received a letter saying she no longer qulified for special ed, no crap we spent 12k on sylvan she better not need it she has no issues she was just a little behind... Then last week I get a letter saying if I want to sign Emerald up for her placement test now was the time. So I call and was told the test is VERY HARD and the lady said she has never seen a student pass it. She would have to test on all 5th grade Math, english, Science, and social... And I am being told that is the ONLY way to get her in the grade she is supose to be in! when she NEVER EVER FAILED! I am so upset. I told one lady forget this crap I'll pull her we'll go back to homeschooling, she said that may be the best option for us...wow. Not that I mind I would love it, I have been a sub. Anyhooo after all this my question is. If I pull her out next year and home school I can do a 5th/6th class setting correct? its my private school after all. So if "SHE" wanted to return to public school in highschool~ Prom all that stuff I never did etc. If I say she is in 9th 10th or what ever, What can the public school do? Will they test her with this placement test noone has ever passed or what? Oh ya, if your wondering why the worry about one year well its because her B~Day is Sept 22nd so she is already mostly 1 year older than everyone in class but with the year behind shes 2 years older that 99% of her class. She would be nearly 20 years old in 12th grade, even the school agreed that most likely wouldnt happen and she would drop out. I dont want that at all  Shes the only one w/ girly things going on and hates being so differant and hates even more when someone asks what grade are you in then looks at her like shes a retard when she says 4th..(no offense you know what I mean about the way kids act and talk ) I've seen it and Ive told them her birthday messed things up cause she was almost in tears, I mean she never failed I dont blame her for hating being where she is Oh man I am rambling on nervous and upset, any advice would be great.

Is this my worst nightmare....YES!
I recently went thru the heartburn acid reflux dilema myself. It got so bad even water burned. I was completly unfilled for almost 2 months. The heartburn was gone before my 3 hour trip home was over! I felt so much better! When I came back in after complete unfill for 2 months I could not hold the same CCs I had prior, before I was 2.0 ccs now I am 1.0 ccs and just now a month later Im going in on wed. for a small fill. Dont be fearful of getting unfilled sometimes your body just needs to heal more. I too was afraid I'd lose my band but after my unfill so far so good on my refills  I wish you the best of luck~

Aetna~~
when I had my surgery I had UHC PPO I had no issues getting the surgery done. Jan 1 06 our work changed ins providers and we picked aetna. At first I was told no coverage for my follow ups. Now after reading the other post about Artna now covering Banding wls, I called this AM and found out that Ive already met my 200.00 yr dect. and Aetna will cover 80% of my fill visits! woot! Now my Dr is out of network so I have to call my works HR and get a transition of care form and get Dr to fill out this will make me receive in network medical benifits from my dr. ( 80% of my bills paid) So Im doing that now! So instead of 175.00 a visit it will be 20% of 175! THANK GOODNESS! Cause Ive been slacking on the Dr Visits because of the cost!!!!

Did any of you NOT get a real gain in energy after being banded?
maybe you can ask your Dr. about a b12 shot? I know after banding (I) didnt get more energy from being banded, however once I MADE myself get up and get moving. I did get more energy and desire to move more! I dont like exersize I hate it infact, if its not fun I dont wanna do it! So the thought of it was a put off...Id rather watch tv...But I love to dance so I started w/ that "Dance parties" with the kids the we started riding our bikes to school and after school. then I started taking the kids skating and skate in the neighborhood. I also work out to my tv on demand in the living room belly dance cardio etc. The trick is finding something exersize that you dont consider to be exersize. What the band did do for me other than portion control, is give me my life back after -70 pounds I can move w/out pain, I do get out and move now, I wear work out clothes even. I love my band and if I had to do again I would for sure!

Super size me!
I prefer sit down places to eat to fast food, Most of the time its not only more healthy but just about the same cost and we can spend family time eatting together instead of on the go eatting. We really like "Cheddars" our family of four can eat there for 22.00 a trip to wendys costs us about 18/19.00 so just for a few more dollare we get family time and a much healthier meal. I love their potato soup and 1/2 a sandwich meal 5.50 if Im tight I only get the soup its chunky style so I dont consider it a liquid soup 2.99 hubby gets a lovely keywest chicken served w/ steamed vegies and brocklie cassarole (sp?) the kids normally get pasta with red or white sauce. we all drink tea or water. Much better than Double cheddar burger and biggie fries and coke X4!

Super size me!
I had been wanting to watch that show for awhile, I know it's old but I just got to watch it last night. I thought it was interesting~ And I will think 3 times before eaatting at fast food again! I much rather eat at a sit down place anyhow, But sometimes you know traveling or going out etc. we do sometimes eat out at wendys. It did make me feel good that my kids hate Mc D's but all fast food places like that are the same. Did anyone else watch this movie? What are your thoughts on it? Did it change the way you look at fast food?
