  1. For those of you who are talking about all the nausea you are experiencing after surgery here are a few suggestions... (Everyone else please post your personal remedies too) Call your DRs office and ask for an anti nausea prescription. This will work wonders If I'm so bad I haven't eaten in days (referring to other surgeries) I will take sprite, put it in the microwave, stir stir stir until alllll the fizz is gone, and sip TWO. Sips. It has anti nausea medication in its ingredients that help me tremendously. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 248/goal 165.
  2. Of you are using a smart phone app to access this site, your signature doesn't show up and the ads aren't either. But y'all I found the cookbook on Amazon so far. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 248/goal 165.
  3. Hot shower. Aim the spray where it hurts. It should help. Hang in there. And walk some more if you can Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 248/goal 165.
  4. What did you find out? Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 248/goal 165.
  5. It's different for everyone UNTIL you get the RIGHT fill. But yes. There is a period of time where you don't have fills and you don't have the right fill which is referred to as bandster hell. I think if you look around here you'll find more about it.... They say you don't get hungry once you have the correct amount of fill in your band. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 248/goal 165.
  6. I know there's some of you out there!!!! Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 248/goal 165.
  7. I needed a smaller place to put my November 5 people than the big November band wagon place! We can most certainly include 4th and 6th too! Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  8. Anybody try it??? I want to know what y'all thought! I would add butter too if it were allowed right now. Definitely add salt though!!!! Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  9. I just want to tell y'all to hang in there. It got better for me. I ate a calcium supplement (viactive) and it cured my need to eat something sweet. It was amazing!! To those of you only on liquids, it sounds like there might be some recipes for broth stuff that you can find on MY Fitness Pal and around here. I'm glad I wasn't the only one having a rough time. No one told me about the rough diet "hump" halfway point! Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  10. Oh, it's 14 cals per half cup of steamed cauliflower (not already mushed up). Keep putting half cups in until you reach your serving. And I don't even like cauliflower. But you just can't tell the difference for the most part. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  11. Take a whole cauliflower head, steam it til it's mushy (20 min?). Put it in a blender, it will come out the consistency of mashed potatoes. Add salt, and I swear you can barely tell the difference between them and mashed potatoes! Helped me last night. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  12. Canada or Oregon? Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  13. I never knew about the powder form. Only the liquid which costs a fortune. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  14. How often would you say they get stuck? Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  15. What about immediately post op? Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  16. Thanks y'all. I cheat with extra veggies. I guess that's not as bad as pizza. But I know I'm going to raid the cupboards if I don't munch five more baby carrots than recommended. I think the most I've gone over is 100 cals. And always on veggies or Protein. I just feel bad about it. But then there is a part of me that is SO proud of myself for getting through my time of the month without bingeing like I always do. And for eating CARROTS instead of Pasta. Or cake. Etc. Doing a bit better now. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  17. I'll ask about amaryl. Never heard of it. Is it for the same type of people? Insulin resistance? Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  18. I need help knowing if these horse pills (time release) get stuck a lot or not. Doc said I'd be ok but I'm looking for someone with experience with that specific med. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.

  20. Just thought I'd let y'all know that the center of excellence in bariatric surgery (Bingham memorial) is doing the surgerys at $7,400. I'm not sure how long they will keep doing it, but I do know that you can get a price lock of sorts. Good luck y'all! P.s. another gal mentioned somewhere in AZ does it super cheap too. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  21. Ok, need support, and LOTS of it. I am losing my mind about food. I'm on the preop diet, one week down, one to go. Banding Nov. 5. My hubby held me while I cried like a little girl about not being able to just eat ... Insert foods here.... I just started my time of the month and I feel totally out of control all of a sudden, whereas I was fine the first week. I can't even explain how strong the pull is. But then I ate my Calcium supllement via five and it tasted like a tootsie roll and it calmed the beast. Weird right? I think I would be fine if it wasn't that time of the month. But I feel like I'm losing my mind. I need to hear all the reasons why this surgery is going to change YOUR life and why it's worth it for YOU. It will be encouraging I think to hear why y'all are motivated right now. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  22. Hi! I'm down 5 lbs and on day 5. Pretty happy with that. Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  23. Hi! I'm Becky. I'm from Idaho. I'm cash pay because surprisingly my blue cross blue shield has a policy specifically against bariatric procedures. Go figure. I am set to be banded Nov 5, and I'm on my preop diet of 700 cals a day which is a but brutal, but really NOT as bad as I thought it would be. I've only been overweight/obese for about four years now. I started having seizures four years ago... Up to 5 or more a day. I lived in a third story apartment and I seized on the stairs a couple of times and crashed on the cement... I just quit going out. The meds they put me on, I was warned they would ruin my metabolism... I can't lose weight unless I eat less than 1,000 cals a day plus exercise. But the medication is one that works, and I HAVE to be free from those seizures. Being afraid of having a seizure while in the shower and cracking your head open like I did, well it's just no way to live. Anyway, I gained 90lbs ish. I wasn't leaving the apartment, because of fear of seizures.... This I didn't do anything... Laundry, grocery shopping, all of it was up to my sweet and dear husband. I stayed inside out of shame once I'd gained 50 lbs. My weight gain was the result of emotional eating, loneliness, being sedentary, and partly my seizure meds. And, well, the seizures themselves. So, that's where I'm at! Um, no kids (don't want to have them til I'm closer to goal weight), no pets, building a house... Foundation just got put in yesterday!!!! I'm a photographer. Mostly newborn babies and weddings, but lots of other stuff too! I guess that's my intro! Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
  24. Yep! On day 5 of the diet! Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 255/goal 165.
