  1. I was just getting ready to post a question about this. Glad I did a search first...lots on this topic. My sister has emailed me twice now telling me that she's seen it a few places where you should have a medical id. I can see why it would be necessary the more I read about it. I'm glad that other people feel like it's worth it to have. Not that fashion should be an issue when it comes to your life, HOWEVER, there are some realllly cute new styles out there for our getting thinner wrists and necks.
  2. I was banded on Oct. 4th too. I'm having a lot of problems with hunger too - but just suck it up. I get to mushy foods on Friday. My coworkers and I are going to a cafeteria nearby for lunch that day, that I call the blue-haired's hangout...heee...so I can get a scoop of mashed potatoes! They have the best dinner rolls - but I'll be sliding my tray right on by...and make them soggy with my tears...hahaha - j/k.
  3. I'm just trying to find something to change up my tastes during this phase because I'm a picky eater and get burned out on things too quickly. Thanks for all the responses!
  4. The individual Kraft Mac-N-Cheese cups came out with a whole grain version. Where would that fit in the post of diet? Mushies? When you can add egg noodles? I know a lot of diets vary by doctor on when you can add stuff in, so I was just curious? Pasta in general isn't really listed in the breakdown of foods in my manual.
  5. That's been one of my "what I'm missing a lot!" foods now that I've had my surgery! I feel ya!
  6. I'm in therapy for my food addiction and my doctor told me it's normal to feel that need for a 'last hurrah' when you are preparing to change that part of your life. I felt the same way and also did feel like I had to "get stuff done!" before too. I had a wonderful steak dinner a couple of weeks before my pre-op diet because I read that steak might be an issue for a long time. My doctor told me as well though, though, that he wouldn't do the surg if I gained more than 10 pounds. So it was all business when I got to that point! Good luck with everything!!!
  7. Maybe I'll get a pedi while holding my new Coach purse! Ba haha...j/k.
  8. These posts are cracking me up! I didn't even think about that until you all are talking about it and I was banded on Oct 4th! My surgery was done robotically and so I was too busy checking that out when they wheeled me in the surgery suite!
  9. I'm 3 pounds away from hitting my first 50 pound loss! This is calculating from my highest weight about 6 months ago. Anyhoo, I'm trying to think of ways to reward myself for big milestones. FYI...I do NOT like massages. That's always the first suggestion. Lol! What have you all done or what would you like?
  10. That's terrible! I'm glad you've made progress in what you're able to take in. I didn't have that problem, thankfully, but because of all the "soup", etc. 10 days prior and then trying to keep up with that afterwards...it has not been pretty. I'd rather have only protein shakes than soup! Good luck with your progression!
  11. Hi! I just had the lapband with plication (iBand) on October 4th, 2012. Realllllly struggling with the post-op diet. The idea of anymore liquids going in my mouth, makes me want to vomit.
