  1. Banded 9-17-12, had to be there at 6, surgery at 715. Anesthesiologist had to do my IV and then put happy drugs in. Woke up 2 hrs later, ready to go home! But these nurses made me wait til almost 4! Only got to drink 30 ml every 30 min. Not in pain ad long as I have pain pills in my system. Weird little indention wherd port is. Glad to be one of the herd of bandits! Oh and they didn't drug test or pprego test.
  2. Met w Dr winter bathe, his pa. Shell be attending/helping on the surgery. Friendly enough! Still, another 2 min appt I'm getting billed for that was unneccessary. But I'm still happy!
  3. Getting banded by Dr keith sept 17th 2012. Have seen Dr keith maybe 5 min total this whole process. He is good tho: he's helping me get this done. Started the process 4 mos ago. Had to do physical therapy, psych, 3 month diet, and sleep study (<- scam). The psych was 150, 3 month diet 65 first visit, 45 each additional, and those don't bill to ins. Even tho my ins covers 100% psych. I have had feelings occassionally that they are just here to make $ but don't care bc its ME who has to do all the work post op to lose the weight. If he's who ur ins covers: he's perfect. Will update post op.
  4. Ng banded sept 17th at owlo/ norman regional by Dr Ronnie keith! So... Soon!
  5. What I needed to hear! Sounds like ur a lot like me on diet and exercise! Thank u so much! Banding Sept 17th 2012!
  6. Congrats! Keep on pushn. My surgery is on the 17th and I hope I do as well as u!
  7. Still pre op but I've read a couple thousand pages of information. What I gather: the doc may or may not numb it. Most don't use xray to find the port. The doc will have u either scrunch up ur hips or hold a deep breath in pushing out ur belly to feel the port. All but two posts have said its no diff than getting blood drawn. Thr two I've read that differed were patirnts whose ports whrre tildted or flipped. But if that happens and it becomes painful, ask for a fill under flouroscopy, or xray.
  8. If u read this, keep posting ur success stories and exercise sched! That is what I'm lookn for!
  9. Currently too poor for that, but once surgery day passes and my med bills r down, I intend on enrolling in some water aerobics class.
  10. 8 mos, 10 mos, +100 lbs! I hope I can do as good as yall! That's awesome. Congrats! I know until I get below 200 lbs, I won't be able to do much bc that's when the pain started. As it is, I'm lucky to stand long enough to do the dishes, or walk for 5 min.
  11. Getting banded with plication on the 17th. Finished reading all the surgery stories, now I need to hear success stories and I'd like to know ur exercise regimen bc I have constant lower back pain and am afraid I won't be able to do enough rigorous activity to shed the pounds I want to lose.
  12. Grats on the weight loss. I hope I can do as good as u! I'm getting banded on the 17th. What kind of exercise regimen are u on?
  13. Started this process in April 2012. My Dr is Ronnie Keith with owlo in oklahoma city. My ins is covering most of the surgery. And I'm scheduled to have surgery Sept 17! I'm doing a 10 day pre-op diet and I just cheated and totally regret it! All my pre-op dieting has made me sensetive to foods! I think its good. Know not to cheat after. Been doing a lot of reading and watching videos. I started at 255, have gained 10 lbs and started preop diet at 266. I think its my psych meds. Well see.
