  1. Thank you soccermom for the encouragement it's refreshing to know that I'm not the only one experiencing these things.
  2. I'm having the same problem, I thought I was alone! It hurts at times to swallow and I'm hearing all this gurgling and rumbling and I'm still struggling with gas.
  3. Thank you both for giving me a little relief, I guess I'm just thinking too much and it's causing me to worry. The past 3 days have been crappy but I've heard from many people that it gets better so I'm trying to stay positive. I'm so used to turning to food for comfort and something to do when I'm bored that I don't know what to do. Watching my family eat is torture, I know it's not forever but I want those foods now. Unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to be one of the people who doesn't have any food cravings.
  4. I am 3 days post-op and today is my first day of full liquids. As I was reading the pamphlet my surgeon gave me, it said I should have a bowel movement by post-op day 3 but I have yet to have one. Should I take milk of mag to induce it it wait it out? Also, it's taking me 90+ minutes to finish a shake because it fills me so quickly, since each shake is 25g of protein would I be okay with 2 1/2 shakes a day? Before surgery I just barely took in 64oz, I'm finding it hard to get it FL in during the day and I'm wondering if I'd be okay with a little less. Since I'm on full liquids I thought I'd try sugar free sherbet since it's my favorite, hoping that will help get my fluid intake up a bit. Any advice and suggestions welcome!
  5. I'm 3 days post-op and have lost 14 pounds. If I lose that much within 5 weeks I'd be ecstatic! Congratulations that has to feel awesome! I'm currently 254 and would like to get down to 150.
  6. If the gas pain went away completely I'd be able to get fluids in faster but I'm so bloated that some sips I take hurt once I've swallowed. Other than not having a BM yet and the gas pain, I feel great.
  7. I haven't felt fullness either, probably because I'm sipping very slowly in fear of vomiting.
  8. It's so uncomfortable, I get a bad pain every now and then. I'm worried because I haven't had a BM yet, don't know whether it's normal it if I should take milk of magnesia.
  9. I still have yet to have a bowel movement, should I be worried?
  10. Hello all, I am three days post-op and I have lost 14lbs. I'm experiencing gas pain, I feel it rumbling when I move, swallow, and lay down. I was wondering if any one else experienced this or if I should go back to the hospital. It's also taking me a little over an hour to finish a protein shake and I am worried that that's too slow. Any advice would be great.
