  1. Congratulations to the two of you. Seems like you were made for each other. May God Bless You as well.
  2. Congratulations! I lost over 40 pounds from the start and I will see my doctor on Aug 21 (first post-surgery appt). Banded on Aug 6 and lost 12 pounds up to today. We will do good!
  3. Prayers for you and a speedy recovery. You will now be banded.
  4. Sorry, I guess I did the band for myself to get healthier and for me to eat better. I can't change this feeling now after I've gone through pre-op,still on post-op (liquids) and then one day try to eat foods that I should NOT eat. I won't have any problem telling host/person/family/boss Why? If this sounds selfish, Sorry again. To much in my past, I probably ate extra food at an outting to apprease my stomach and look good to someone's effort in the kitchen. Not no more! If they can't handle this, cross my name off the list. Best Wishes
  5. My hernia repair was under my breast bone and it was painful for first 2 days. It also felt bad every breath I took. I took my pain meds every 4 hours sharp. I also put a heating pad for 10 minutes on top of my breast bone area to relieve some of this. I did not dry heave. Maybe you should sit in an easy chair with head elevated to help you. By day 3 all discomfort was gone except tender belly button area for another day and then on Day 4 everything stop hurting. I think to get a good nights rest on Day 4 I took my pain med 1 more time. Best wishes and Congratulations.
  6. It sounds good if this is what your doctor wants for you. Mine is 60-80 protein grams a day, but some days I push 90 grams.
  7. Congratulations to Aug 20th Banders. Keep the Faith.
  8. Pain meds if you have any and use your heating pad. I use mine all the time for 10-15 minutes to relax back and shoulders prior to going to sleep. And I dont have any aches. The heat just feels good.
  9. sews4fun, Best wishes and Prayers for all the new banders on Aug 15.
  10. Best wishes and Congratulations. Your day approaches.
  11. Use your heating pad it will help you lots even if you have no shoulder pain. Warms up all muscles. Day 3 and 4 were the best with NO problems. Day 2 though, I drove my car to store and back. I also attended a weight reduction support meeting at my home town. The people we amazed I was there attending from recent lapband. All of us are different to the procedure. But if you need to rest, please rest. Make sure you SIP your Water. And take it often. Weight loss will come later. Keep the faith.
  12. I have been doing great!. It's already been a long week since my date. I can't believe it's over with surgery and I get to use the tool. After surgery don't get discourage if you don't lose much weight. Remember there's NO fill in yet. And recovery slows your body down somewhat. Take your pain meds, they are important to sleep well and get rest. If you're able to take some days off, I recommend it. Aug 20 is right around the corner. I go to my first post-surgery doctor appt on Aug 21. Waiting too see how I am. Hugs
  13. Roxy and DeAna, you two will do great. Keep the Faith and Be positive. WE are ALL right there with you! Hugs
  14. Congratulations and Best Wishes! Your day is coming very soon.
  15. Just follow the surgeon's directions and you won't have any problems. Buy all your broths,SF posicles, nonfat greek plain yogurt(Fresh n Easy), SF jello(no fruit) and have plenty of Protein shakes. It's better to have a weeks worth of supplies ready and have a working heating pad (shoulder area pain from gas). I was Banded Aug 6, 2012. Best Wishes and Good Luck. Keep us posted.
  16. Best Wishes and hopefully it will clear up for you.
  17. I'm buying the Fresh N Easy store nonfat Greek yogurt plain. I mix a little Splenda and it tastes good. The Greek yougurts have a higher protein count in each container as compared to other yogurt.
  18. You can do water aerobics and this wont abuse your knees.
  19. Congratulations! Yes, I had trouble after the band even with no restriction, finishing my 11oz Protein shake at a setting. So, I drank 2-3oz every 10-15 minutes. Then I crushed all my med pills and mixed them in nonfat greek yogurt with some splenda and ate 2 tsps. Took in a little Water. 2 hours later, I slowly drank Crystal light. SIP SIP SIP Best Wishes and Keep the Faith!
  20. Congratulations! And guess what, the "Band" is not making you walk, YOU ARE! Thats awesome, no meds and the blood sugar already working for you. Great news! Best Wishes and keep the faith. WE can do it!
  21. Good luck and Best Wishes to all Banders coming up. It's been since Aug 6 I got banded. No issues, No problems with surgery and a mild post-op, and I still love the Costco Premier Protein Chocolate shakes, especially if you freeze them for 40-50 minutes prior to drinking. Its make a great smoothie and the texture changes to an ice cream condition. Be Positive and May the good Lord Bless all of YOU!
  22. I go back to work on Thursday Aug 16. I had a long off time to adjust to the band and eating liquids/shakes/yogurt. I see my surgeon on Aug 21 and thats when I can eat some foods rather than liquids. My healing is almost completed. Ive been walking more and more getting use to exercise again. It doesn't seen like it was a week ago when I was banded,Aug 6. Be positive and keep the faith.
  23. May the good Lord bless you and family. Keep the faith.
  24. Be positive with everything you do. It does work but you are the only one that can succeed. The band is a tool, use it and you will drop the weight. We are all here for you and for us to all Succeed in losing weight. We are a big support group and I'm sure many here have gone through what you're feeling. I'm only 1 week since surgery, but I know I want to be healthy and be able to do normal things again. I will succeed. Best wishes and hang in there. WE all Care!
  25. You mean WE have a say so on the fills? I didn't know this. I thought it was up to only the surgeon and how much he puts in the band based on weight loss. I don't think my surgeon will ask me othe rather than how I feel. I thought automatically all surgeons on the first fill put in 1 to 2cc as a start and then see if you maintain your weight or lose as well.
