  1. Has anyone here been held up by psychological clearance? I hit the wall with this in October when the Dr. suggested I started to see a therapist, and have struggled for months to get psych clearance. I finally did, the date was set, I started the pre-op diet, and have struggled with it. I mean, we are going from eating pretty much whatever we please to 4-5 protien shakes a day...it's going to be hard at first, right? I had an appointment with my therapist today and really struggled with being honest about how hard pre-op and making these major changes are on me....I REALLY want to have the surgery and keep telling myself that I can deal with my issues after that.....but now feel guilty that I wasn't totally honest....anyone else? (thanks for letting me vent)
  2. I agree with you on making meals for the family....I have 3 kids and my husband and am on the pre-op diet already (banding date is the 23rd). I told my husband that there might just be nights that he has to cook or fend for himself...we usually feed the kids (5,4,2) first anyway so that won't be hard. What I am most nervous about is late night when I am used to have "just one more treat" before bed.....
  3. Cyndi, You are getting banded on the 23rd? So am I! At St. Alexius, too! Do you use Dr. Rantis?
  4. Hello all! This is my first post on this site and I am so looking forward to meeting everyone! I am just learning the ropes here, but I have a blog that I have been working on for a little bit... http://bigbottombanded.blogspot.com/ I was just offically cleared for surgery today (wooohoo) and they are being set about 2 weeks out, so I should have it by the end of the month. I am excited and VERY nervous at the same time! This has been a long time coming, and it's time for me to focus a little on me!
