I know everyones journey is different, but I'm just curious. How are the mid 20 sleevers progressing? I hear you loose quicker when your younger... I'm 25 and currently at 307lbs (after diet for insurance and before liquid diet). Do the masses have loose skin? how quickly are you coming down?

Thanks all I know ill loose the 3lbs plus but admittingly I have been terrible this week. Eating out and all just cause I can "last super syndrome" (even though it makes me sick after not doing it for 4 months). Vance I'm with you, bottom line they want that check. And since I have met my out of pocket max they will pay 100% I don't even think a truck driving through the surgery room would stop the show lol... Twoboysandagirl nope he just said continue to loose 5lbs a month until surgery last time I saw him and that was before approval

So my surgery date was rescheduled from April 9 to April 16th. That's cool its not a denial so I'm happy. At any rate I have gained approx 3 lbs since my last surgeon appt and since my insurance approved me. I'm sure its due to my menstrual and I'm positive I will loose it during my two week liquid diet that I start Monday. My question is if I gain weight prior to surgery can my insurance company or surgeon take my approval back?

Dr gave me a heads up and and said you won't loose this huge amount after surgery that people expect since your still swollen and your body is adjusting. Your almost two weeks out keep up the good work it will come... And Congrats!!!!!

This was me last week. Approval came rather quickly though with aetna... File received and case opened Friday. Approved by Monday afternoon!!! Good luck!!!!

yes you read the title correctly I have been approved by aetna for my surgery!!! It's kind of surreal. The case was just opened on march 23rd pending the clinical file. I called this morning around 9 to see If the file had been received from my surgeons office and the rep said its pending and she can't see into the file. I called back to speak to my case worker and the rep stated I was authorized... I froze and said wait does that mean I'm approved?!?!?! She laughed and said yes. After I jumped up and down called my mom texted everyone (lol) I wanted to call back to hear it again. Low and behold my case worker called me and confirmed!!!! Today I am starting my liquid diet and the excitement is holding me right now lol. I assume now all I do is await my surgeon to call me confirm the date and give me my next steps!!!

Ugh I hate discouraging ppl. I had someone tell me I didn't need the surgery I could just loose weight. How can you look at how unhappy someone is and try to hinder them from making a change? Ehhh whatever is done is done for you. I dont care what anyone says, my mind is made up!!

Update... My case has been opened a.d the turn around time is 5 days 15 if things are missing from the file (fingers crossed) thank you!!

No, I hadn't asked them because they were unable to see the file in their system so I was assuming it wasn't faxed by my surgeons office. Now that I know it has been that's my next question

Got word yesterday my paperwork was submitted Monday 3/19!!!!

atkinsoncl ...I am hoping that is the case with me, they are working my case and everything pulls through asap Wheetsin.. great advise I would hate to be swept by the wayside... I'm pushing until I get what I want without being rude of course!

Did that this morning lol. They said they had nothing yet. It could take a week to show up in the system. So Monday I'll be calling both again unless I get some kind of response today... I'm hoping my surgeons office sent it off.

So my surgeons office is usually on point. My last appt was march 15th and I was told my paperwork would be submitted either that Friday latest Monday. Here it is Thursday, and no word so of course I called. The receptionst said they would call me back... That was 4 1/2 hours ago... They are open until 7pm but I'm just so anxious. I am having my sleeve performed by Dr Muhammad feteiha (he's super cool). As I said before I am tentatively scheduled for April 9th. My two week liquid diet is supposed to start Monday... Guess I'll start it just to get a feel and get a head start just in case I am approved!!!

Hey all, I recently completed my 3 month multidisciplinary program for aetna!! My attentative surgery date is April 9th pending insurance approves me. Everything was in order until one of the reps in my Dr office said "do you have two year weight documentation?" Started my whole journey 12/2011. Between 2008-2009 I was between nj and Ga or had no insurance. I started having the Dr track my weight again in 2010. Long story short, I know my bmi has always been high, but my pcp was giving me a hard time about releasing my records and I'm nervous 2010 and 2011 won't be sufficient since I stated my program Dec 2011... Does anyone have any insite? Could this possibly lead to a denial?
