  1. I haven't had the sleeve done yet so I assume I can. I asked the medical assistant what is more important weight training or walking, she really didn't answer me. So I just continued to do the walking and my wii active. Any suggestions?
  2. I will start from the beginning of my journey. When I started this journey to get the sleeve back in Novenber 2011 I weighed 227 lbs. I am 28 years old and 5'1". I have been working out by walking 2 miles a day. I got bored with walking the same route everyday. So I started doing my Wii Active 30 day challenge. I've been doing the Wii active challenge for about 2 weeks. Today I weighed in. It was my last visit for my 6 months. During the last 6 months I have lost 18 lbs. to me I thought I was doing very well. Even getting off the couch and exercising was great for me. So here is my frustration. They did my testing today and found that I have lost more muscle than fat. They say I need to build muscle, which I understand that. I just felt like I was doing good. The Wii Active is fun for me because I never know what the next workout will be. Can anyone help me with what I can do or am I just being sensitive?
  3. I'm having the sleeve done and there is a lot of people on here that help me with questions and concerns. Is there a place for spouses that are on the other end of it where they can go to get answers to concerns n information?
  4. I'm in Oregon. I live in Astoria.
  5. Walking the March of Dimes today woo hoo. I'm so excited. It's 6.2 miles. The furthest I've walked so far is 4.5 this will be a new challenge and for a good cause. Go team Preemie Babies 2012!!!!!!
  6. Thanks I think I will call them on Wednesday. I'm so excited.
  7. How long after paperwork is submitted did you wait to call insurance? My appointment is Monday and they said they will send it in that day. Should I call insurance on Tuesday or Wednesday?
  8. I just think we(sleevers) have somewhere to get answers to everything or most things. I was talking to my boyfriend and he was wondering if there was a forum for spouses of sleevers in case they had questions. Maybe they can make a forum for spouses of people who have been sleeved or going to be sleeved.
  9. So I was just wondering if there is a place on here from spouses to go and talk about how they feel and their journey helping their partner through this?
  10. That is great!! Congratulations! What exercises do u do? A day for me is: 8-9 am wake up 9-10 eat Breakfast have to wait an hour before eating when I get up because of my meds I take. 1130 weight lifting (2 lbs weights) and walking 2 miles. 1230 eat Protein Bar or string cheese then take a shower n get ready for work 530-6 eat dinner which is a couple of the following fish, baked Beans, string cheese, blueberries, sandwich, speghetti wheat noodles, vanilla pudding made with 1% milk, Jello, or Soup. I usually do the fish with beans with string cheese n blueberries. I love fruit. 8-9 pm protein bar or cup 1% milk with nesquik powder. Was told the nesquik is ok to have. 11-12 bed time I need to learn other stuff I can eat. I struggle learning what is good and not good. I guess it will always b a learning process.
