Robin, I'm sorry u were denied..r u going to appeal it or self pay. If i get denied I will self Pay, I didn't have to do a 6 month nutrition evaluation, but did have to go through hoops. Heart clearance,psychological evaluation, nessicity letter from Dr, clearance letter from primary Dr. I started Jan 1st, finally completed now. I wanted to self pay in the beginning cause I didn't want to wait, but insurance coordinator wanted me to go through insurance first...so here I am waiting patiently..I've been fat all my life , why not be fat a few months longer

Congrats chamcg! I'm just scared if I get denied, I do have a bmi of 44 but no other health issues...so I cross my fingers

Hello! Is anyone familiar with bcbs anthem of Cali? My insurance coordinator just faxed in paper work, just wondering how long will it take for approval? Super anxious...can't wait to start my new life...

So i went there, I didn't have to do a stress test, primary Dr did a ekg, recently so the cardiologist documented everything Monday will go back to get some kind of xray and i will b cleared..yay

Wow baby cakes that's a lot, who is your insurance? My insurance requires psychological evaluation, heart clearance, medical nessicity letter and clearance from Dr. No 6 month nutrition was required. I have bcbs anthem of Cali, I'm from Michigan

So today is my last test before insurance cordinator submits paper. Here is the problem..I've had the flu for two days and today I go see a cardiac Dr for heart clearance. Do you think this will be an issue?

So when I decided to go through this lap band miracle, my insurance cordinator told me it was a 6 month weight. I found this site while doing some research and cause of You wonderful people, my insurance does not require 6 month waiting period. I called and confirmed as well as my new insurance cordinator. I have anthem bcbs of cali, ppo. Their requirements r bmi over 40, I am at 44,..heart clearance, psych evaluation, and medical neccisity. March 8th will be my last appt for heart clearance, I had an ekg which went well, but my cordinator wanted my paper work from a cardiologist,..after that paper work will be submitted, I hope I will get approved so i can start my journey, 31 from Michigan.
