  1. Yeah...just got my date, February 15th. Super excited!
  2. Welcome Amanda! I am waiting to hear back from my insurance company and am also hoping for a February surgery date. FYI - there is a February bandsters group...you should look us up and join!
  3. Keep up the good work and the results will come! Way to go skinny girl
  4. I was afraid you were going to say that! Ugh...that is my fear! Are you losing inches?
  5. What are you eating? Are you exercising?
  6. I am also hoping for a February band date! My surgeon's office told me they submitted my insurance information on Friday - now they have 2 weeks to respond. As soon as I hear I will schedule my surgery and start my 2 weeks of protein shakes. I completed everything...and even had an EGD I didn't know I needed on Thursday. Looks like a great group here too...super excited to be a part of the February bandsters!
  7. Hi there...I am hopeful I too can be a part of this group...as I am hoping for a call today to schedule my surgery at the end of January. I already have my two weeks of protein shakes purchased...so I am ready to go!
  8. Wow...hope I have a similar experience! Way to go!
  9. Hi there...I have been reading these blogs and forums and have a question for any successful banders. I am trying to figure out the benefit of the band itself...as a tool. I know before I would be able to (and want to) eat way too much food. Example...too much extra cheese and pepperoni pizza, too many tacos, too many cheeseburgers and fries. With the band...do you NOT eat these foods at all anymore? ...or eat a bite or two and are satisfied with that? Does the band make you just eat less, or not want the food that we used to love? And, is this true long term as well as immediately after surgery? I am meeting with my surgeon on Thursday and am hopeful to get banded by the end of January! I had no belief that I would ever eat the pepperoni pizza again...and am at peace with that!
  10. Hi Tori! Do you already have your band? We were able to "taste" the flavors of the shakes at the office when we met for our classes...but I haven't actually been on them YET. My surgeon requires 2 weeks of Protein shakes before surgery...and then basically 2 weeks after (full liquid diet). I didn't think they were too bad...but honestly, I don't care. I am not trying to enjoy them too much! I guess I am trying to feed my body what it needs...not what I think I want!
  11. Hi...my name is Kristen, I am 42 years old and super excited to have made my appointment with my surgeon for January 5th. That is kind of "my last step", then we will submit to my insurance company (Blue Care Network) and then schedule my surgery (after two weeks of Protein shakes). I am ready. I first spoke with my family physician in late August and got into the seminar in mid-September. I then got all my stuff (classes, labs, psych eval) together - and completed - and now next is my surgeon visit (with my support person). I haven't read about anyone on here that uses Blue Care Network...but am hoping for a quick approval. I have spoken to my insurance company and have everything they require so I am hoping for the best! Looking forward to sharing with others banded around the same time as I. Kristen
  12. I am just curious if any successful Lap Band patients have any good dating stories? Has your dating life increased?
  13. I didn't think the protein samples the surgeon's office had were THAT bad...I am getting nervous reading this thread...
  14. I am going through the classes and process right now...and am hoping to be banded in January! I love your blog Lady Lap Band!
  15. I too am new. I just joined LBT but don't go to a seminar for lap band until Sept 14th.
