I pay 20% :/
Hello! Not too sure if this has been asked yet. My insurance covers 80% of the surgery. My max out of pocket it $3,500.00 My question is, if the 20% is higher that $3,500, do I have to pay all? Next question is, has anyone financed that 20%? How was it? Thanks so much for all your input.

Hey Everybody, Just being curious and a little nosy. What will you buy or have already bought, when you hit your goal weight? I have always wanted some. Never was confident enough. (poor hubby). Thought it would be fun to see what you guys put.

Less cardio, more strength training?
Thanks! njm, You are super lucky. Keep up the good work. I know that curves is hydraulic resistance. Which is strength training, The harder you push, the hard the pressure. I agree with age and how much weight. I will mix it up and see what I get. Hoping, with luck, my skin will bounce back. Good luck to you guys.

Less cardio, more strength training?
I was wondering what you guys think about less cardio and more focus on muscle. I am so afraid of access skin, that I want to just focus on muscle with yoga and resistance bands. My husband says, I will already loose weight with the band so no need for intense cardio. Just a thought. Thanks everyone.

Thanks Kris and Heather! Now that i think about it, it is a good thing. It will help me when it is time to get to the actual surgery. I will have all the tools I need. I'm even starting yoga today. That way I can have my routine in place after the surgery. Good luck Kris!! I am so excited for all of you that are having your procedures real soon. Keep us posted Thanks again.

Bummed out :(
Had my appoint with my PCP on monday. She said that i would have to start a 6 month weigh in and classes. She said she would send in a referral to a dietician. So now I have to wait for that, then take classes. I feel like just starting the 6 months is gonna take forever. Just thought I would get an approval right away since I have a BMI of 45 and have battled with hypertension for 5 years. Just wanted to vent a little.

The Ultimate Scheme
Hey everyone! Good luck to you. Keep us posted. I dont want people to know because i dont want people to judge. I have a friend who did the gastric bypass about 6 years ago. She just started gaining some weight and everybody it making mean remarks. People analyze more and criticize more when they know you have something done.

Healthnet Anyone?
Thank you so so much for your imput and congrats on your journey. I wonder if it will be the same for me. They also told me that I would need to see a contracted dr. Where I live, I'm sure it will be far too. I live in Socal as well. I have the HMO silver network. You must have a better plan than I do. Good luck and thanks again.

Healthnet Anyone?
Hi everybody! First off, just a quick thanks for all of you who share your answers and thoughts:) Today, I called healthnet (HMO) and asked if they cover bariatric surgery. Turns out my plan does 80/20. I would have to pay 20% "if I qualify". A little history. I have been over weight my whole life. In the last 6 years its have been the worst ever. I had 2 kids in the last 5 years and it made things much worse. I have hypertension ( 5years now) and I think I may have sleep apnea. I am always sleepy. Both of my parents have diabetes, so I know I will if I dont change my life. Monday the 9th I have my first General DR apt. Where i will tell her that I would like to have the surgery. With my qualifications I believe that I will get an approval from her and the Insurance. Has anyone gone through Healthnet? If so, what types of evaluations or tests do they put you through. I read that some people have to take weight loss classes for 6 months. Thanks again
