  1. Thank you everyone for your helpful and positive responses. @candaceshenea Being younger probably helped the healing process faster. My wounds were closed within like 3 weeks after surgery but also with being young I felt like i was a baby when it came to pain! Along with being young I'm hoping my skin will bounce back and hold tight because thats a big worry in the back of my head. I haven't tried sugar free koolaid but all I drink is Vitamin Water Zero. It's the best!!! I've also been putting Mederma on my scars and hopefully that will make them go away as time goes on! Thank you!!!
  2. Wow. What a difference!! I'm 5 and a half weeks post op and have lost 28 lbs. I feel the same and when I look in the mirror to me I look the same. I should definitely take some pictures and compare to the morning of my surgery. Keep up the good work!!!!!! U look great!
  3. Congratulations on the excellent weight loss! Were pretty much in the same place, although I'm 5'2'' but we started around the same weight (250 for me) Your meals sound very similar to what I've been eating daily. What's your exercise routine like? Iv only gone to the gym like 5 times since surgery - which is horrible, I need to go on a regular basis. I've only lost 28 lbs so maybe its the gym that will really make the difference. Also how much liquids do u drink a day!? I've only been getting like 20 oz which is probably affecting my weight loss too! Good job to you Mandy!!
  4. Ps. I forgot to mention I am now insulin free!! Yup! No more diabetes no more insulin shots like 5 times a day!! Man it's the good life. haha (click the kitty)
  5. Yay I'm so excited you're my very first reply!! Yeah i know I need more water throughout the day but its just not happening!! Ugh I definitely don't want to end up back in the hospital!! That was no sweet vacation!! Haha thank you for replying and goodluck with your journey!! I know it's going to be worth it in the end!!!!
  6. I had my surgery on march 15 and have lost 28 lbs. I just turned 18 in January so as a teen this has been an emotional and physical challenge for me. Everyday gets easier and every pound I loose makes it totally worth it. Im on soft foods now and have been eating alot of refried beans and cheese, egg whites, and turkey and laughing cow cheese. My taste buds have changed so much and I don't have as much as a craving for food like I used to. I'm getting bored of just those things and feel like there's alot more food I can be eating but I just don't know what. I'm currently in culinary school so cooking and baking isn't a problem for me. If anyone knows any good recipes allowed during the soft phase I'd really appreciate it. Especially anything with tomato sauce haha that's been my number one craving! Also I've been having problems with getting enough liquid down. I only get about 20 oz in on a good day. My skins so dry lately and I know it's because of my lack of water intake but if anyone knows of a good face moisturizer let me know!! Thanks for reading and please respond! And congratulations to the rest of you sleeve patients!!
