  1. If you missed it you can see it here right now. http://video.pbs.org/video/2365190806/ I thought it was good.
  2. under 18.5% BMI is pretty darned "skinny". I think what you say Jane is true, and when you reach that weight, you don't have much to lose before you will die from it....if you get sick or such....

  4. Dry sex. Really kills the moment doesn't it!? Got lovely UTI a couple of weeks ago from that. I gotta change something else and get this working better for both of us.
  5. Thanks for the link Florinda. I'm leaning that way too... Wanda! A play on top of everything else you are doing? That is wonderful! I seem to have my hours maxed out right now, and some things are definitely being left undone. I hope some things can be finished up, or abandoned so I can get to some other things I love (ART!) I have a lot on my mind, and just not sure how to express them in my art yet... Go get'em girls! Just make sure to take care of yourself too... we are in it for the long haul. Love ya all!
  6. Yep, I see her on MFP now and again. She had a tiff with Laura on a post that kind of blew up a while back. I guess it might have had something to do with that... I just got over a UTI as well... am now taking probiotics for a month to try and get the biome back in shape. http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2013/04/gut-microbiome-bacteria-weight-loss Hang in there girl! You will feel so strong if you get through the day! And best of luck with the interview! Exciting!
  7. Are your stats wrong: Starting Weight: 212 lbs Weight Lost: 57 lbs Current Weight: 155 lbs Goal Weight: 152 lbs BMI: 24.3 If you weigh 155 and want to lose 3 lbs? No. If your stats are wrong and you weigh 212, I weighed 220 and am 5'4". My thought is, Seriously, are you kidding me? I am 67 and feel like a teenager again. I am shopping for cute clothes again (lol I am off my big butt and just shopping). My husband says woohoo 10 times more than he normally did when he sees me uh in my underwear. I just bought 2 new size 12 bathing suits after wearing the olden black one for 20 years. I am no longer dwelling on old age and bad health and dying, I am young again! Good luck all. She had the surgery 6 months ago... old post....
  8. Sarah... so sorry too, please remember we are here to take a break with if you need one. Hurray Georgia! I just dont have the time to police as often as they post! Luckily, I have a great "spy" that helps me to get there and kick when I don't see it myself first... Butter and Laura were such good buddies, I guess its not surprising they both jumped ship at the same time, but really, having this forum is a great support to have in this WLS life we live now. I have to write Laura again and remind her we are thinking about her.... I don't have Butters home email, but I think hes still on MFP... will check there...
  9. Your next girl!
  10. Looks like it. No wonder I am the only host around the Vets forum kicking out Newbie butts at this time! Miss them both! Every thing I have read about it says you may lose weight when hormonally balanced with progesterone...I would give it some time.... You look darling!
  11. Got my shingles vaccine this morning.
  12. Maybe Im hanging in the wrong places, but is Butter around any more?
  13. oh girlfriend! I'm sorry to hear your body is blackmailing you right now, But... happy the cream is working on the flashes and mood. I think it should help you lose too... Maybe this 9 pounds will pass quickly...HAS to be mostly water!
  14. Being a vegetarian.... all that Fiber, cabbage, Beans and such, can really lead to some gasbomb days! The intestinal biome loves to make gas!
  15. Hi Rogo, Vets Watch Dog here... that is the same question I had early on! Still do after 3 years out. This Vets forum is for people 12 month or further out to post questions and answers at... so I am going to move your post someplace vets can still answer, as well as anyone else who wants to talk about it. Good luck with your decision, and by the way, You certainly can gain weight with the sleeve... at three years I still have to keep a sharp eye on my behavior... at less than 2 years I had gained back 22 pounds... I have lost them again... but it is a struggle at times. However saying that, it is still easier to keep the weight off than without the surgery. I love my sleeve.
  16. That is so cool Globe, sometimes you just have to see it with your own eyes in a different light.
  17. I hear ya Georgia.... I am fasting today... trying REALLY hard to stay on track.... I have a desert planned in the PM to help me pull through at the end of the day.... Good luck, to me! I am up 2 pounds over my bounce.... I have been eating salty stuff, I hope my fast day will get me back into the range. I feel fat!
  18. best of luck all!
  19. Cute skirt too! Those pics of your boat time look great! I have a friend that is talking about renting a house in Mexico (maybe Porto Viallarta or something like that) or a month March of next year... and inviting friends to come by... she is choosing a great bird watching area so we can go and do that... I have not been to Mexico for year... starting to save up now!
  20. I have had panels done several times... Just LDL and HDL... as well as ratios, total, Triglyserides and such... I have started taking plant sterols (spelling?) which may make a difference.... I did manage to get the numbers down a little by eating less saturated fats... family... all on statins. . Well, I'll get back on this wagon... thanks for the ideas Globe.
  21. Heres a good one, my General Doc asked me to lose 5 more pounds (not because I'm fat, but to try and get my cholesterol numbers down a little) and I am starting to feel like a failure. I know its silly, but I am just not ready to make any more changes than I have already to lose 5 more pounds. I have been savoring maintenance... I have NEVER been in maintenance before.... I was kind of liking it and feeling normal and proud for a change. Its only 5 pounds, and really, the funny feeling is just in my head... but I do feel like I am closer to rebelling and sabotaging myself a little bit more from it... I really want to avoid taking statins if I can do it in another way, but the timing is just wrong.
  22. Sheryl, your NSV post in the Vets is answered by almost all newbies.... Theres no end to it!
  23. Thanks for asking a great question, I will move it to a place where Vets and others can answer your question. The Vets forum is for those 12 months or more out from surgery. You are welcome to post there when you are that far out....sooner than you think!
  24. Um-Hum.... and welcome back girl. The old grilled cheese. drool. Im a damn fool for it too. I think I am the only Vet Host left. I will move them. I need to make up a rubber stamp that says " Thanks for asking a great question, I will move it to a place where Vets and others can answer your question. The Vets forum is for those 12 months or more out from surgery. You are welcome to post there when you are that far out....sooner than you think!
