  1. Hi Kimberlina, First a big CONGRATS to you, I am so happy for you and your new beginning!!!! I am not sleeved yet and with that being said you asked the exact questions that I have been pondering. Lets hope that all of these fabulous sleevers on this forum can answer and give us just a little more knowledge........ and courage Best wishes!
  2. Hi, I am narrowing down surgeons and because I am a self pay I am trying to find out as much info as possible. I am looking for a US surgeon that does the sleeve using the spider. Has anyone used Dr. Yu ? I have also inquired about Dr. Qubbeman and had very positive responses. I am so thankful for this forum because I feel overwhelmed and I am finally ready to move forward asap, now I just the Dr. So if you know of any surgeons doing the spider single incision surgery, I would be truly grateful for any information! I live in Ohio and as far as I can tell there is not a Dr. here that does this paticular type of surgery. I wish traveling was not the only option, but I will. Thank you all so much for your opinions, your kind words and the endless time that I know you have researched to help so many (like me)! Best wishes to all in their journey to a better you!!!
  3. Best wishes and everything will go great! I can't wait to be on my way!
  4. I wanted to say to everyone being sleeved this week, that I am so proud of you !!! You are making the choice of living the life YOU choose and I am so excited for each and everyone of you. This forum has been such an inspiration for me. I am in the process of finding "the perfect surgeon" and I am a self pay. I have reached out to people for advice and received prompt, kind and helpful responses. All of this said....I know I will have this wls. I am scared to death as you all are and sometimes I think the worse, but as stated, the excitement of truly enjoying life and having the freedom of not letting weight control us and our happiness will be over. Best wishes on your new journey and I will pray for each and everyone having the sleeve (God knows who you are ) and I cannot wait to hear of all your success!!!
  5. Hi Sarah, first I want to say I am sorry that you have to feel this dissappointment, I can only imagine since I have not had a wls, but I have been researching the gastric plication surgery. Just knowing that there is so much thought and energy into the actual decision making of the right surgery and then the fear and excitement and all the other emotions the it all entails, not to mention the dreaming of a better you, so when I say I am sorry, I truley am. I personally would like to know more of your thoughts and views on this surgery and if you would not mind telling the Dr. who performed your surgery, if you do not feel like sharing I totallly understand. I wish you all the best and please know that you are not a failure on this journey, you may just choose another road to get to your destination. Take care.
  6. Thank you for your reply. I am new but I have gotten a chance to read a few of your post and you seem to have a great attitude and that along with a successful surgery...you will surely reach your goals! I guess I am just scared. I am 45, a blessed mom of a 9 yr old boy and a 20 month old girl whom I both adore! And I know I need to better my health for the future of them since I am an "older" mom and I want to share as much of their life as time will allow and spend that time having an active lifestyle. I justt hope my surgical experience will mimick yours in the case of no yucky stuff Thanks again and best wishes sent your way.
  7. Thank you for the welcome and the info. I am considering Dr. Watkins since I live only a few hours away from his practice (Cicinnati, Oh) but mainly because in just the last few days of learning of this procedure and the little time I have had a chance to reseach, he has rave reviews. Best wishes on your journey and to good health!
  8. Hi Karen congrats on your surgery and new beginning! Also thank you for sharing your concerns and thoughts. I am new to this forum and I am really interested in this surgery and love that I can learn from people who have actually had the procedure and how they are doing. Can I ask who did your surgery and how you did right after, like drinking fluids, when you could eat foods such as applesauce/soft foods? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch, Tracy
  9. Hello, I am new and I am very interested in this surgery. I was pretty set on the VSG and was going to be a self pay and then I heard of this procedure just days ago. So forgive me if I seem to have not done my homework , but I am actually just getting started:) I know this and all WLS are tools and you have to do your part, but is weight loss similiar to VSG or is it much slower as some of the info I have read on a blog? If any one has had this procedure and could share their weight loss, I would greatly appreciate it. One other issue that scares me is throwing up, I know this sounds ridiculous but I am afraid if I have this or any WLS that I will throw up often or have what I have read as sliming? Thank you so much and I am so happy to have found this forum, everyone seems so nice and it is such a comfort to someone trying to find their way to weight loss success.
  10. Thank you so much for the quick reply and the detailed info. I am glad you are doing so well, thanks a bunch!
  11. Hi, I just joined this site today and I have been searching weight loss options and was pretty set on the vsg until I came across information on plication surgery. It seems far less invasive and safer. My question is who did your surgery and did you have any complications such as nausea/vommiting or any other major discomforts? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Congrats on your success and new journey to a better you! Thank you
