I had my pre-op appt today and all looks good. I got my bariatric advantage shakes and bars today and im actually looking forward to starting SOunds crazy i know. Ill probably regret saying that pretty soon! Any advice as my last days are counting down?? IM SOOOOOOOOOOO THANKFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And sooo excited to "live " again!!

what happens if the pulmonologist doesnt clear you? Can they cancel your surgery????? I know all these problems with improve with the WLS, but can they cancel it due to the problems?

First of all, you can't let anyone force you to do a surgery you don't want or don't feel safe with. Is your insurance covering it? If so, can't you just switch surgeons ? I was in the same situation and was approved for the lap band. But changed my mind about the surgeon ( really good decision i made) and that i wanted the sleeve instead. I went through the process again for approval. But i though you can just change surgeons once you get the approval. Hope that helps. That really sucks and i would definately turn around and run the other way!

Are you referring to the N.E.W program in Newport Beach? If so, i am having my surgery done there. Hopefully on the 23rd!!!

Thank you for all the info! i did apply at carecredit and got DENIED. I knew i would. Thank goodness i have a supportive hubby. We have money set aside. And i will be using a part of that. so hopefully everything else goes smoothly. Because i really need this to happen. I wanna be around for my son who is autistic and needs me <3

did you run out of breath easily? Or what kind of symtoms if any did you have?

Not a smoker. i smoked in high school but that was forever ago. When i did the stress test, i couldn't finish it . and was like wheezing like crazy. i was never diagnosed with asthma...but maybe. I run out of breath fast and easily. and i just thought it was because i gained so much weight.im praying its something they will "treat" and not have to postpone or cancel my surgery:(

One more question, did they ever mention it MIGHT postpone or cancel your surgery when your results were" off the charts?"

THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH! it has been heck going through the approval process and getting all these tests done. Now they say i need this one as well. I really need this surgery bad and i will be devistated if they cancel my surgery. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. YOu have made me feel a bit more at ease. THANK YOU!!!

I just got a call from my surgeon's office and they said i have to have a pulmonary function test done, because my spirometer test came back negative or someting?? What happens with a PFT? And if i don't pass will they cancel my surgery?????

Hi all, I am wondering if anyone know where i can apply to have about half of my surgery financed. My out of pocket fee is $4000.00 and that would pretty much wipe out my savings. I was hoping to finance half of it, at least but don't have good credit. Anyone with not so good credit get approved with a finance company? And if so which one? Thanks for your help!!

My surgery date is June 23! FINALLY it is around the corner. I will be starting my preop diet. Guess they want me to do 3 weeks since im very over-weight. Any advice? Any suggestions??? Id really appreciate any and all feedback, experience, concerns
