  3. I get terrible migraines also, some that land me in the ER for demerol shots. Right now, I take Fiornal at home. I spoke to my surgeon about this, as I was very concerned about not being able to use NSAIDS. She told me that the amount of aspirin in Fiornal is very small, and that the benefit of use outweighed any risk. It works very well for me.
  4. Hopefully this surgery saves your life twice over....please keep us posted
  5. I was scheduled with my case manager on 11/15. Almost 2 weeks away! I went and did my lab work today, and my ekg. Hopefully thats it! Then I will get a date....

  7. At my orientation, I weighed in at 280.7. Dr. Park told me I need to get down to 260. I just did my sleep last week, and it was pretty easy. I had to sleep with a little gizmo on my finger, and then took it in to the hospital the next day. Now all I need to do it finish losing the weight! Only 4.3 lbs to go.
  8. Thanks so much for the info! I met Dr. Fisher at my orientation, and he was really nice, but I am getting sleeved my Dr. Park. I felt more comfortable with a female Dr. You're counting down the weeks now, good luck!! Lindsey

  10. 4lbs away from goal, and I've only lost 1lb in a week. I'm getting so close, and it feels like the last few pounds are taking forever!! I passed my psych screen, have had my meeting with my surgeon, finished my sleep study, so all that's let is losing the weight. I'm hpong that I can work it so that I get a date when my kids are on break from school, that would make everything so much easier. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get a sugery date in Richmond once you make goal? Lindsey
  11. I was told that I need to lose 20.7 pounds. As of today (my psych consult) I am only 5lbs away! At this rate, I'm hoping to be at my goal within the next 2 weeks! So far I've had good experiences with everyone at Kaiser, and can't wait to keep going.
  12. Richmond called me this morning and finally set me up with my psych appointment! As of this morning, I am only 7lbs away from my goal and I'm hoping to have reached it by the end of the month. I'd love to get a surgery date that's before the end of the year. Everything is moving a little faster than I expected, and my orientation was just on the 14th. I'm excited and looking forward to the next step!
  13. LDS is for my 3 kids, Logan, Dominic, and Sophia.
  14. Hi everyone. I had orientation 9/14 in Richmond, met with my surgeon, Dr. Park, 9/27 and have an appointment for a sleep study 10/13. I still haven't gotten my appointment with pysch though. Dr Park only required me to loss 20 lbs, She said its because my weight is distributed evenly on my body and that there isn't a ton of fat on my upper abdomen. I'm only 9 lbs away from goal weight and I'm hoping to at it or very close at my sleep study appointment. Everything is moving a lot faster than I expected, and I'm both excited and nervous about it. Kaiser has been great so far, and I'm really glad I got the one female doctor.
