Surgery date moved UP....need a pep talk (long, sorry)
I say go for it. I was banded 4 weeks ago and feel great. I kinda had a freak out too when I got my surgery date Bain e I was paying for it myself instead of insurance. I had it ony 2 weeks after we initial consult. It has been one ofthe best things I have ever done. I had some gas the first few days and it was very uncomfortable. But ow I am on pretty much regular foods, am exercising which I never could do before and already getting into clothes I couldn't wear before. So. I think you should do it!

one less bad food on my list!
Wow Spartan, that was harsh. Yes, in an ideal world, we would never eat bad food or fast food. But, sometimes, when traveling or out running around, it is unavoidable. Geez Louise!

This is ridiculous and I'm pissed.
Wow. Where dud you have your surgery? That's crazy about the protein. You need at least 60g protein a day.

one less bad food on my list!
Chicken tenders. I think it was the breading? Although I can eat nuggets at chick fil a. Not a good food choice I know, but sometimes when you are out there isn't a lot of choice. And I have not tried bread or pasta for fear of getting stuck!

What do y'all take for pain? Like for head ache, back pain, cramps, etc. Everyday aches and pains? Am having back ache and "monthly" pains right now and haven't taken any pills since banded. And the thought of having to take like 5 spoons of liquid motrin or something is just awful. Have some liquid lottab left from surgery, but hate to takethat. Plus can't take it when I am at work, lol!

FOOD JOURNALS
I use the myfitnesspal app for my iPhone, but you can do it online too. I am doing about 1200 cal a day right now. I am 4 weeks our and on reg food. Have a fill in 2 weeks so will prob decrease my cals some then. But I am losing so I guess it us working. I Ike this app a lot. I have yet to find a food if doesn't have listed. I can pit in my exercise too and it tells me how many cal I burned. And it tracks your nutrition too so I always know how many grams of protein I am getting, vitamins, fiber etc. And when you close out your day at night it tells you how much you will lose in 5 weeks if you continue to eat like you did that day. Which can be a good reality check. Especially if you are like me and slip up and eat crap on occasion. Try it out!

Any february bandsters out there?
Any fellow February bandsters there? How is your journey going? I was banded on 2-10. In San Antonio at true results. Am on all reg foods now, just way smaller portions then before. I am down 15 pounds since surgery, 35 lbs total with pre op diet included. I feel great. Haven't had ant major issues so far. Have gotten stuck a couple times but I think it was bc I ate too fast not bc of what I am eating.

Whats been the hardest thing for you to give up
Bread. I loved sandwiched, rolls, biscuits, any type of bread. I still have a teeny bit of other things, chip, candy, cookies. I can't totally deprive myself all the time! I am down 35 pounds and exercise regularly so I think it's ok. But damn I would love a big ole sandwich!

Tighter during your monthly?
I was banded 4 weeks ago and the is my first monthly since then but I have noticed it feels tighter today than last week. Maybe from boosting and hormones? Bad part is I am still having huge chocolate cravings!

I have beentold and have heard thy bread and pasta are big no no's and will get stuck and be very problematic. That said, I keep seeing people post about what they are eating and this often includes sandwiches, English muffins, bagels and even subway! Really? And this doesn't cause problems? I am too scared to try it.

How does everyone get in enough protein? I have it at every meal, but I still can't seem to eat my daily requirement. I get full before I have taken it all in. Do you still use protein drinks? I am 4 weeks out.

Cravings
Right now is my "time" and I am having serious salty and sweet cravings. I like sugar free chocolate pudding and I crush 1 or 2 oreos into it or I have a handfull of nuts and eat it slowly. I like sliced strawberries with sugar free cool whip too for a good dessert.
