Struggling ?

Prior to my WLS I remember having this overwhelming feeling of pressure & guilt all mixed into one, because I felt lazy - why couldn't I just go to the gym and make a change for myself? And that feeling of pressure and negativity just stunned me into doing nothing.

I swore that post-WLS I would do my everything to never be like that, yet here I am - yes I am losing weight, I am eating better, but I have been to the gym like 5 times in 2 months...why can't I just do it?

I feel like I am really just putting a lot of pressure on myself right now, but I just think I need to make a change and get into better habits.

Sorry guys - just needed to vent! Anyone else struggle with this kind of thing?

The resistance bands I use have helped a lot with my arms too though I still have flappy bat wings of course. I get complements about my arms which is amazing but that’s because I don’t wave my arms about too much so they can’t see the saggy skin ?.

So funny, i can relate also!!!

Really struggling this week and for no particular reason. Its hard to articulate, but I feel fat even though I am still losing and am now living an active lifestyle. I cant place my finger on why but having a 'fat' week where I feel like I've gone back to pre-surgery feelings about my size. I was doing so well mentally until this week. Anyone else feel like this randomly

Have you tried getting out your before photos and doing a side by side or trying on an old article of clothing. I mean, you could just be having kind of a blah week and associating that with weight. Sometimes we all can just kind of feel off. Try to think back on all of your non scale victories, and where you were before you started this journey. Maybe that will remind you of how far you have come!!

I hope your day gets better soon! I completely understand where you're at, I've been in the same slump for a few weeks ? I'm hoping its the colder darker days doing it. You've been doing great, so just know its one day..you got it down!

I feel it! But go get your workout in, get a skinny peppermint mocha or whatever your holiday drink of choice is, and just enjoy the day. I am having many days like this lately (its time of the month) and ya know its okay to have an off day. We deserve those mental breaks too! you got this lady :)

totally me this week! I am just having a week where I feel like puffy, slow, tired, just unmotivated to work out. I am still doing my workouts because I know its a slump but I am just there this week.

ladies... (and gents)...(and everyone in between?

not every day will be perfect, or a success or an accomplishment. some days will be the polar opposite. thats just life (post wls or not)

give yourself some grace, be kind to yourself. i read somewhere that when u feeling shitty, treat yourself how you would a dear friend who was feeling shitty. good advice, methinks.

hugs y'all.

It's so good to have the bariatric community ...a group of "your people" who get it! This is a forever journey with many struggles. ?
