I hate this surgery.

I totally regret it. I lost 10 pounds in the 1st week, nothing since then. I miss food, I miss eating. I am at a notre dame football party & I want to have a good time, but I can't without food. I have some sort of roadblock to change..people say "oh I don't crave food" I still do. "oh I don't care about eating." I still do. I wish I never would have done this. Sleeved 12/20 and wish I was back where I started.

Sometimes tough love can be good but maybe I was a bit harsh. However, your initial post was all negative, negative, negative, which can become a bit hard to take when you are battling this yourself and trying to stay positive.

I apologize and I hope you will forgive me and I will forgive your ignorant comment about my country and those who live here.

EVERYONE feels that way in the beginning. I am 9 months out and eat normally and have lost 108 pounds. Stay strong. I promise it gets easier and you will be so glad you did this.

But I don't know' date=' maybe that's how you treat one another in the outback.[/quote']

Say what? That sounds a bit snarky and condescending to me.....

I regretted the surgery the few weeks out also. Now I'm 6 months out and I don't miss food, I don't crave food and I look at food as a fuel for my body instead of something I need psychologically. I lost 62lbs, feel AMAZING about myself and my confidence has skyrocketed. I'm with everybody else who says hang in there. Surgery is a very emotional thing. Your body is all out of whack from the changes going on and you just need to give it time and give the surgery a chance.

I didn't say I was 'wrong'. I just said I was a bit harsh.

Well, sometimes tough love works and sometimes kind encouragement works. As for me when I post on here I'm inviting everyone's opinions, and I appreciate them all. Everyone's input helps me get perspective, even if it's something I don't want to hear. So thank you all!

I feel the same way i am 6 months post op and have only lost 32 lbs..i rarely ever lose ever no matter the effort or exercise..amd its 32 cuz i jus gained ten lbs..im not starvin myself..when i eat i get full and feel icky ..so im at the point where i have thrown my arms up in te air and kinda dont care anymore

I feel two ways about the surgery..im glad i did it cuz the 30 wouldnt have come down without it but also i regret it cuz i am a tru foodie and i cant enjoy food the way i used to cuz im restricted and if i wasnt gonna lose anythin since i first dod the surgery then sometimes it makes me say i shouldve stood fat..my only problem was diabetes and it was controlled i could live woth tje medication..i did the surgery as a way to help reverse it some more but not too much progress there and im honestly gettin tired of the wait itll get better line or try this line cuz ive done it all

Jus ventin people thanx for listening

The body will lose weight if calories and the right food have been given it. The kids starving in Africa know this much and I can understand your frustration. You must re look at your diet I would say because it is impossible to be doing everything right and not losing.

Good luck all my love

Taking this all in. I wonder how things are going to be for me when I have the surgery done. I'm glad that you guys are very real and honest here. I have 9more months, and it helps to learn the ups and downs of vsg.

What were your expectations? Did you have a psych consult prior to this surgery? Sounds like you were not prepared for the changes you would face. Unfortunately for you this is not reversible as far as I know so best embrace it however you can and pick yourself up.

Don't hate, appreciate! ;)

If you had bothered to read the entire post you would have the answers to all these questions.

Wow

Are u kidding me? Who has time to read 8 pages worth of stuff not relevant to them! Be grateful alleygator that she took time to reply to you even if its not what u want to hear. And don't be rude regardless of how u feel. Shame on you!
