Hello everyone!

I am a 35 yr. old, married, mom of 4 and I live in the Kansas City, MO area. My surgery is scheduled for 3/31/09 with Dr. Stephen Malley and I am on my pre-op diet now. I am excited, scared and miserable..lol This pre-op diet thing sucks! I dunno if I have ever been so hungry in my life and this is only day 4! I am in constant pain from a back injury (made worse by the weight) and my knees. I am currently 234lbs and 5'4'' tall. I have lost 5 pounds in the last 3 days. I just keep telling myself the payoff will be worth whatever I am going through now. Keepin' my eye on the prize.

Anyway, just wanted to say 'hi' and introduce myself. Since I have pretty much secluded myself until my surgery, I am sure I will be on the board a lot! lol

Hi, My name is Anya. I live in Overland Park. My Surgery is Monday 3/23 with Dr Hitchcock who is now with Dr. Malley.

I hear ya on the pre op diet. It will get a little easier.

Keep in touch. I'll let you know how the surgery goes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
