I'm having surgery October 12th as well!

HI Everyone! I JUST got the call today, my sugery is October 2nd! This is the first time for me posting on the site, although I've gotten a lot of great infromation from reading many posts. I guess I decded to post now because afte I got "the call", it really started to hit me that after all the roads I've had to travel to get to this point, it really is happening. I'm excited and TERRIFIED at the same time. Anyone else feel that way?

Congratulations!

That is a difficult situation

Officially got a date of 10.19

I'm a special ed teacher, I'm doing 1st week off and possibly half days the 2nd week. Depending upon how I'm feeling.

Sweettooth2015, congrats on your weight loss!

I wanted to know if any of you have started with some our basic eating practices?

* no drinking 15 minutes before you eat

* no drinking while you're eating

* no drinking until 30 mins after you eat

*chewing slowly

*taking smaller bites (chick pea size bites)

I ask because my NUT suggested that's what I start to make good practice because we'll have to do so after our surgery. However I'm struggling with smaller ller bites and chewing slowly. Do you have any suggestions? I've mastered the no drinking rules, but haven't gotten the others mastered.

Congratulations I'm sure the wait will have been worth it. I've been scheduled for bypass on 10/13.

Oh that is great @@sweettooth2015!! We are just a few days apart in surgery!!

I had my last nut appointment today. They will be submitting to insurance tomorrow! The nurse said I should hear something in the next 2-3 weeks. I told her I was nervous that I would be denied, she said my insurance company hardly denies and I meet all requirements. With any luck I will have my surgery around the second week of Oct!
