Hello! I am new to this forum and I am scheduled July 29th in Florida. Soooooo nervous. Also wondering how I am going to get thru the preop liquid diet. I have had issues my whole life following any kind of diet... So a liquid one sounds tuff!

I'm easing my way in... I start my preop Tuesday so I'm slowly adding shakes I'm so when I do state I'm not going from 3 regular meals to 2 shakes and a meal. I'm doing a shake for lunch and lighter meals for the day. Hopefully it'll help.

Just keep your eye on the prize. Think how badly you want this. The first few days are rough but it gets easier. You can do it!

I am one week into my pre-op diet. My doctor did not require me to do a liquid diet. I am allowed chicken and turkey breast no skin, lean cuts of deli meat, tuna, unlimited protein shakes, egg whites, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding and sugar free popsicles but absolutely no fruits or vegetables. I am down 8 pounds in one week. It is a challenge with the few choices that I have so I am certain all liquids are tough.

My date is July 6th in Florida..cant wait!

I had mine a week ago. You guys can ask me any questions. ¡Muy Buena surte! But I had the band.

So.... How much did it hurt?

I was able to walk around and eventually out of the hospital under my own power with no wheelchair like 6 hours after the surgery started. In and out. I was in pain for a few days afterward, but I avoided the heavy duty meds the gave me and took children's Tylenol and gas X. The only pain I really felt was the incision sites and a little gas.

I had the band surgery. The other surgeries may be different.
