Pre-op jitters

My surgery is next Wednesday and I have been on the pre-op diet for one week I'm really scared I'm going to be knock back from the surgery as 3 day in I had chicken laksa for lunch (forgot my shake sachet) and they had no salads left then I went out for work functions the boys ordered my garden salad which was great only problem I was told I could have diet soda so through the night I ordered three glasses only to find half way drinking through the third it was normal coke stopped went to water. And on Sunday I had a smacked on popcorn really regret the popcorn now I also went cold turkey smoking and have struggled with the craving so I have been walking up to 3kms a day for last three days my intake for past week has been under 850 calories and drinking 2lt of water am I worrying to much or could I have screwed myself??

Good job... i knowledgly understand how hard it was for you to quit....so you had your surgery or having on the same day as me??? Im traveling tuesday..now how does one get through traveling without food??? Eek. 34 hrs til on the plan i can do this!! Good luck with your surgery...where are you having yours??

Yup had surgery last Wednesday came out of hospital yesterday little longer to recovery as wasn't drinking enough but feeling a lot better be prepared for gurgle noises in the stomach and try and walk around as much as u can to get rid of the gas. I diff don't feel hungry anymore and sometimes I have to remind myself to eat (liquard/purée diet) if u don't u will become rather lethargic so worth it I had my surgery done in Sydney at St George Private and so glad I did wouldn't change it!

good luck!!!!

Ty! 24 hrs and im on a plane! Wed surgery...yes im wondering how to ensure hydration...sure would be easier with a drip!! Lol...Gurgling sounds...like now?? Damn im hungry!! But i can get through this!! Usually im great at not eating!! Which is a bad thing of course! Are u vomiting? You must be eating...well drinking sips all the time...or so it seems to keep hydrated?

U will find the gurgling sounds after the sugary I vomited once at the hospital and it hurt having nothing in my system I brought straws yesterday I find it easier to drink with them I have five cups a day breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner to make sure I'm hydrated or u will pass out Like I did yesterday eeeek not long to go now :)

I Know!! Ty One more night....15 ish hrs..omgosh...so excited...... awww straws ...ty i will pack some!!

No, no straws they can add to the gas issue you will have after surgery!!! Besides after surgery you will only want ice chips!!! It helps with the chewing wanted and the dry mouth you will get!!! I wish I could still get ice like they have in the hospital!!! I love the ice chips!!!
