Scared To Exercise

ok, i'm scared to exercise before i loose weight. several years ago i hired a personal trainer who came to my house a couple of days a week. i kept telling him my feet were hurting and he kept pushing me. long story....i aggrivated my plantar fasciatis so bad i ended up having surgery on both feet after over a year of severe pain in the mornings or after resting and being the dead weight on family outings (I use to be the one who was walking way ahead of everybody and them complaining they couldn't keep up).

that was 30+ lbs ago and now my feet are acting up and my knees bother me. I am scared to start any exercise program/walking, etc. until i loose 20-30 lbs and take the pressure off. i never want to go through that pain again and have a setback.

am i being unreasonable? did any of you wait?

i've often wondered on biggest loser how they do it. i know they dont show everything but ....

From what I've read about Biggest Loser they work out hours every day. It does not sound like a healthy thing to me.

I'm sorry to hear about your plantar fascitis. I have foot pain too (Although I imagine yours is probably worse) and it can make standing unbearable at times. Everyone's ideas so far sound really good. I know I always enjoy swimming and can always do it no matter how my feet are feeling.

I've been to the biggest loser ranch, twice. They have changed their program a lot since they first started. Yes you do work out....a lot !!!! Lol but they have also incorporated many other programs that help with the mental aspect of weight loss. They truly have some fantastic caring and motivating people there. I even made some lifelong friends while at the ranch. Although I have now chosen the option of getting sleeved to help in my weight loss journey I never received one ounce of negativity from any of them. I really though I was going to get a lot of " you are just taking the easy way out" & " you should be able to do this on your own" etc. but they are all supportive and just want whats best for me. Biggest Loser does push you hard but only because they know that we are all capable if so much more, they just showed me the way and now it's my job to run with it!

Were you a contestant on the biggest loser?

No I wasn't a contestant, I was at the ranch in Utah that is affiliated with the show. They also have one in Malibu and Niagara Falls Region.

That is really neat I had no ideal. Was it hard to get in? Was it real expensive?

^^ This?

Its a great experience! No it isnt hard to get in, you just have to pay, lol. Its a full week of working out and eating healthy, but its all about getting you out of your comfort zone and showing you what you are capable of. So often we limit ourselves because of our own fears. Let me tell you, I did things there that I never thought I could do. Like run at 7.0 on the treadmill. When I started I was only running at a 4.5 maybe 5 max. You go on amazing hikes in some of the most beautiful country anywhere. And the instructors there are some of the most caring people Ive ever met. If you want to google it you can find out what their prices are right now, they do have specials from time to time. Its not cheap but its so worth it. Even after I get sleeved and lose the wieght I want i will still go back. I love it there.
