Lap Band Vs C-Section

I am in the process of being banded hopefully in the next 6 months and work as a teacher. I have had two c-sections in the past and both time was up and moving as soon as possible, walked, felt good, etc. after a few days. Has anyone had both LBS and a C-section and can compare? Just curious.

I thought the lapband was worse!

It was still worth it though!

I am fortunate to be a very fast recoverer.

C-S was harder, but it was relatively easy for me to recover.

Lapband was a walk in the park in comparison. I had some discomfort after I came to and then for the first 12 hours or so, but nothing I thought was just awful. The anesthesia hangover was by far worse than the surgery itself.

I was at the mall 3 days post both surgeries.

what an awesome question! I have also had 2 c-sections and was trying to anticipate how banding would compare. I am glad to hear it's not as complicated a recovery as that can be. I would imagine it would be on par with gallbladder surgery, which was also done outpatient and with a scope. it was super duper easy compared to even my planned c-sections.

I am also a teacher hoping to be banded asap though. wishing you a great start to the new school year! Maybe by next winter we will be the teachers with the cool boots and cute outfits!

I have had 3 c-sections and the band was MUCH easier recovery. I am also an elementary teacher. I had surgery on a Thursday and went back to school on Monday without any problems. I even took a field trip that week with a 2 hour bus ride ( one way) on the school bus without any issues. In fact, I think it helped with my recovery to be up and about.
