I have the Mirena IUD and my doc said that once it has been removed for atleast 6-8 weeks...there should be no problems in conceiving. Hope this helps.

To Fill or Not to Fill?
Thank you all for your suggestions/opinions! I really appreciate it! :smile2:I went ahead and canceled my fill appointment for Tuesday. They rescheduled it for Sept. 15 but told me that if I felt that I needed a fill before than to call and they would get me in with one of the other doctors. To Jodi-thank you for the Lap Band Green Zone info! :scared2: To Bethanyblondie- Wow almost 3 months and 30lbs without a fill? That's awesome! Congrats! :tt1:

To Fill or Not to Fill?
I was banded on 7/7/09. My post-op appointment was on 7/28/09 and the doctor allowed me to graduate to pureed foods. The doctor told me at the post-op appointment to come back in 2 weeks if I was hungry in between meals...if I'm not hungry she said to wait an additional 2 weeks to come back for a fill. So my question is, should I get the first fill as scheduled on Tuesday (to possibly lose a little more weight) or wait the extra 2 weeks? I'm not hungry in between meals...actually I'm only hungry when I first wake up in the morning. When I do eat I eat maybe 2-3 oz of food and feel great. This is all new to me so I would love to hear any suggestions/opinions.

Wow!
So I went to the doctor for my post op appointment yesterday. I was so shocked to get on the scale and for me to have lost 14 pounds in 3 weeks. You hear about everyone's success stories and are so happy for them but when that someone is you...to me it seems surreal. My doctor said that I am doing great and that I can graduate to pureed foods! Woohoo! Actually I'm a little nervous about starting pureed because I know that liquids can't get stuck...and I'm sure that pureed foods go down pretty easy as well but I'm still nervous. The best part I think was when I texted my husband and told him how much I had lost and he replied with "That's great I'm so proud of you!" I have tears running down my face now just thinking about it. My husband has never told me he is proud of me for anything...not even for giving birth to our 3 children. He did not want me to get banded because he says I'm perfect the way I am. Maybe in his eyes but to me I was very unhappy. Now that I see the band is working I know that I will be smaller and much more healthy in the future. I am so looking forward to next summer when I can go to the beach/pool in confidence wearing an average size bathing suit.

I'm new
I am looking forward to being HOT (as in temp. wise) and HOT as in pretty lol! My recovery is going very well. I have had no pain so therefore did not need to use any pain medication. My doctor recommends a liquid diet for 4 weeks...so in 2 weeks I will start my pureed food. I am looking forward to it but at the same time a little nervous because I don't want to get stuck or get too full...things like that! I am getting a little tired of protein drinks as well but I get full from them and I like that part!

I'm new
Hello Phoebe! I was just banded on 7/7/09. This site is very new to me and I am still getting used to it. Congratulations on the weight loss so far and I look forward to seeing your results! I am currently living in Delaware but plan on moving to Georgia in the very near future with my family. Good luck and best wishes to you on your journey.

Surgery in a few weeks.
I was just banded on 7/7/09 and just signed up for this site in the past week. The best thing I did for myself pre-op was to take time eating my meals...portion control...smaller plates and utensils...getting my fluids in...setting time aside for my meals...and walking. This is just my opinion but it has helped me in the past 2 weeks since my surgery. Best of luck to you. I am on opposite sides of the states...I'm all the way in Delaware. Also, congratulations on the 20 pound weight loss! That is great! You are doing wonderful!

How soon will I feel "Full" after surgery?
I was banded on 7/7/09 and the only time I am hungry is first thing in the morning. I am still on liquids and will be for another 2 weeks and feel full with them. Good luck to you!

Do you burp all the time?
I was banded on 7/7/09 and burp constantly. My family just looks at me like I have 2 heads or something. I am still on a liquid diet and will be for another 2 weeks. Hopefully it will settle down soon.
