Real Meals, Whey Protein, a problem..

Hi All,

Next Friday is my surgery and I'm trying Real Meals this week, since I have ulcerated colitis this Protein drink seems to give me some problems. I can handle the Instant Carnation Breakfast drink, but with milk only 20grms of protein. Can anyone suggest another drink? Also how many grams of protein are we suppose to have a day?

Thanks,

Corgi

Corgi~ My band surgeon told me I should get AT LEAST 45-50 grams of Protein a day.

As for Protein shakes I drink EAS Advant Edge Protein drinks. (Walmart or Kroger carries these)

Also many on this site have recomended unjury protein products and it has a web site you can check out. www.unjury.com I think is the right web site to check. Hope this helps you out. Good luck.

If you are familiar with Shaklee, they have a pretty good shake Protein. It is Soy based but readily digestable. What I am doing now is mixing the Shaklee and the Edge advantage powder mix in a shake and that way I have the whey and the soy protein and end up with about 30-35 grams protein. The shake is great and fills me for a quite a little bit. The Shaklee one I have used sporadically over the years and gives me a real boost to a slow day. By the way I use the magic bullet for the shakes and they get blended real smooth.

My old stand-by is skim milk, bananna, vanilla and Unjury protein powder. Go to Unjury.com. It's the best protein powder on the market and comes in chocolate, vanilla and unflavored. There is 20 grams of protein in each scoop. You can put the unflavored on anything and can just barely tell it is on it. 60gms of protein is the daily requirement, I believe.
