Im newly banded on 12-14-04. How do you know if your band has slipped?

Seems I can eat alot of mushy food at once.

I was banded the week before you, and I can eat and drink a lot. The first week I could hardly finish a cup of coffee, (decaf), and now I can drink as much as I use to. Good news, that means I can get the water in easier. Yea, so much for the 1/2 cup theory!

Staci, if your band slipped you would not be able to keep down anything..liquids or food...Like Betty said, you are able to eat alot becasue you have not had a fill yet..things wil lchange once you get filled and mushy foods go down real easy with no restriction or problems.

Actually, I had good restriction for a month after my surgery with no fill. I wasn't even ready for a fill, but since they had to remove my port they filled me anyway. Teresa lost a whopping amount of weight before getting her first fill, also. Everybody is different, but most of us can eat a lot more mushy food than solid. Mushies slide through to the bottom, like liquids. As soon as you're able to eat solids, you should. They stay in the pouch longer.
