possession of child pronography!!!

he really had a shitty up bringing, his mother all ways hitting him pulling his hair and always drunk! Mine was shitty too and so were many of yours probley .and we are not doing it.

well I talked with Eric's mom she started crying and told me he did do it.the state of Wi is charging him with 100 counts of child Pronography.

and the FBI also is charging him he is looking at forty years in federal prison. Im not trying to make any one mad but my own thoughts are if you do such a vial act on a child they should string you to the tallest tree! and I can only say that as a Young kid my mother was always at the bar one of my mom's freind tryed to molest me as a

young boy. and I did nothing wrong caused me countless hours of stress and rage! now eric attorney wants me to talk about his early child hood. what do I do? how does a person sink so low? he new what he was doing. thats what is killing me ( HOW CAN YOU NOT NO ) THAT IS WRONG WRONG WRONG!

JQPublic poured his heart out and he needs our support.

Many have decided to say things like, we feel for you, or you are in my prayers, I know you are going through a terrible time. Some have offered suggestions such as testify, don't testify, help, don't help. And some have said that they would have Eric executed or castrated or they would personally rip him to shreds.

I have decided to show some (of what I consider) insight into the molestation situation. I shared some personal experiences and told of ideas to help the problems we face as individuals and as a nation.

As a person who just lost a niece because of the aftermath of molestation, I have a certain amount of empathy for JQPublic. I was at the funeral when people wished me the best for my loss. I watched her uncle consoled by people who didn't know he was directly related to the cause of her death.

If he had molested my children, I would have felt no different about him, because I don't expect others to forgive while seeking retribution for myself.

JQPublic, my heart goes out to you and I hope you testify and speak the truth at the hearing. I wonder if your pain is because of the feeling of being stabbed in the back by your friend or it is some other reason. Whatever it is, I feel for you. I hope my writings have helped you. Getting things out in the light is the best disinfectant.

It like killing you self to me that is a very selfish act because you never see the people who love you and would be there for you.

And who says we shouldn't have a license to have children? I couldn't read all the posts because it was making me sick and thinking of the horror I would be forced to inflict on someone if they even thought of touching MY 3 year old. I think you should just tell the truth, period. How would you feel if you were one of the children he molested and had their life ruined by him? Sorry, but I'm a firm beliver in the truth.

We should all have both sympathy for the victimized children and empathy for the children and the victimizer.

We who can not control our weight although it is killing us to eat, should realize that we are powerless without a higher authority to help ourselves.

No! I am not excusing anyone who commits these terrible acts. But set up a mirror (mental or physical) and watch yourself eat (or run a taped version in your mind of yourself eating pre-Lap-Band).

I know, we can say, "but I never hurt anyone else". Didn't we? Didn't we hurt our spouse, parents, children (or whoever is applicable to each of our situations) by trying to kill ourselves with food?

It is always easy to criticize and feel superior to other people because our faults are not as bad as their's.

"I only drink, but I don't do drugs."

"I only bet on baseball, not the horses."

"I can quit smoking anytime I want."

"OK, so I cheated, but she wasn't underage."

We all have our failings which we can overlook, but we can not condone others who have failings. Yes, child molestation is worse than many other failings, but what are we going to do about it? Read the numbers I posted a while back. I applaud JQPublic for saying he will tell the truth and ask that his friend be giving medical care. I doubt that the judge will follow JQPublic's suggestion and he will probably sentence Eric to hard-time where he will learn more about being a criminal and maybe even learn not to leave any evidence behind next time.

That is how a pedophile becomes a murdering pedophile. They get angrier in prison. The anger in prison adds to the anger that they had which caused the molestation in the first place.

I hope I am wrong and Eric pays his price to society and becomes a model citzen by totally changing his ways. Don't you?

True, true. I was reading it in the context of something else he was being charged with though.

I just read this entire thread and I would like to agree wholeheartedly with T.O.M. about prison not being the answer to stopping pedophiles.

Prison does separate pedophiles from the general population and that is good. But it does not help them and it only takes them out of society for a specified period of time. Like so many others here have also said, they are historically repeat offenders. That's why we make such a big deal out of showing their photos in newspapers and posting their names and addresses at a website for all to see.

When I was young I was the legal secretary for a brilliant attorney in Oklahoma. He was a criminal defense attorney. He took the case of a 55 yr. old man who was a multiple convictioned pedophile. His latest crime against a 6 year old boy happened within days of his release from prison. I was the person who typed all the legal documents - including a step by step account of his latest offense. It was heart wrenching.

The brilliant attorney decided that for this man, and most other pedophiles, prison was a revolving door. They commit the crime, they get caught, they go through a trial, they get convicted, they do their time, they get out, they repeat their crime. Unless a law is passed that they can never get out, prison will bear those results.

This attorney recognized how ineffective our society's handling of pedophiles was and petitioned the Supreme Court of the United States so that he could argue for a better way to deal with pedophiles. Surprisingly enough, the Supreme Court decided to hear his case. It was a very exciting time for all of us - most attorneys never have a case before the Supreme Court during their entire career.

His argument begged for our government to stop prosecuting pedophiles as pure criminals, but rather as the sick people that they are. They would not be turned loose, once convicted, but instead would be hospitalized 24/7 for an unspecified period of time to be treated for their mental and/or physical illness (because pedophilia may be attributed to physical issues). Once they were able to demonstrate to the attending physicians who are treating them, that they can function again in society without committing crimes, then, and only then, would they be able to petition to be released from the pedophile treatment facility.

The Supreme Court ruled against my boss and decided that pedophiles should indeed be treated as criminals and that our courts should continue to treat them the way we had been in the past. Several of the justices noted that the attorney's argument was valid and that he was right about the revolving prison doors for these sick people, however they believed that society would never accept our treating them as anything but criminals.

I wish I could show you step by step how it all unfolded for the pedophile in this case, but of course I can't. But when you understand that putting them in prison doesn't work and allowing them to choose whether or not they should participate in a rehabilitation program doesn't work, I don't know how you can agree that the way we are handling pedophiles in this country is correct. If simple castration worked that might be a reasonable answer. But as was pointed out in an earlier post, that doesn't really ensure anything. Makes us feel better, maybe, but doesn't necessarily solve the problem.

It seems to me that Oprah and others are at least trying to bring more information to the public now than back when my exposure to pedophilia happened (1970s). But I still don't see our society coming close to an effective answer.

Although I haven't addressed JQPublic's original plea for support, this is a very emotional and thought provoking issue and one that I believe deserves a lot of discussion. Obviously JQPublic must decide for himself how he feels about his pedophile friend and whether he should agree to testify in his defense.

When I have a few hour's I will try and look on the news paper site and see if I can pull any thing up. there has been lots on news paper artical's and news room footage. Big Big story!

Federal charges have been filed against a Superior man accused of 100 counts of possessing child pornography in Douglas County.

The paper also states two federal charges of using a minor to produce visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct and possessing a computer hard drive and DVDS containing visual depictions of minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

FBI . an analyst in Milwaukee verified 600 images of child pornography among the materals, according to the crimal complaint the videotape allegedly showed olson having inappropriate sexual contact with a girl who appropriate sexual contact with a girl who appeared to be age 3 or 4. this is from the daily telgram thursday oct 26 2006. and also picthers of nude children printed on on regular paper!

This is the first one Ive have sceen. I talked with mother the other day and she told me he did it! and started crying.

Child pornography is wrong no matter how you look at it it is just wrong! even if he was, mollested there is no reason that he shoud of did this!

Eric,s mom was a fallen down drunk one night out drinking eric older brother and sister , were playing around with match,s and lit his crib on fire eric was burned with 3rd degree burns about 35% or his body and his mother would some times would screw two men a night in front of him when we were kids we would have to get up and leave and she was always screaming at him and slaping him and pulling his hair in fits of rage.

then ten minutes later giving the poor kid a kiss crying. I no that shit messed up!!!

I no growing up his life was hell!!!!!! ( BUTT what about the hell he put those kids in) if that sounds like Im Judging him Im not.but in good faith I just can,t do it.

I understand. It's so hard to know what's "right" in a situation like this. I would visit my friend, take him books - whatever I could do privately to let him know that I still loved him. But I would stop short of doing anything that might impact a juror, reduce his sentence, or would make it appear that I was giving public support to this man.

Certainly you could testify that he had a horrible childhood. So have countless other people, and they didn't molest children. His attorney, however, will try and make that evidence - your testimony - into an indictment of Eric's mother and spin the whole thing to try and shift the blame from him to her. That's just wrong. Even though she was nothing but trash, she didn't commit the crimes that Eric is charged with - he did.

I hope you can find a way to show Eric that you still love him, but you HATE what he has done and will not raise a finger to lighten his load. This does NOT mean you are judging him. It means that you believe in our judicial system and want him to be judged by trial - not in the newspaper, not by his crappy childhood.

I can tell this is eating you up, John. I pray that you will find peace with whatever decision you make.

Love and prayers to you, John. God knows the plans He has for us, and they are plans to help us. What seems like an unbearable load, an unbearable sorrow, is part of His plan and is worked out in His wisdom. We are not able to see it or understand it now, but we will understand. Turn to your Faith. Lean on the Lord. If I could hold your hands and pray with you, I would do it. I am praying for you, your family, his family, and even him. God love you all. If it is any help at all, I do believe you are doing the right thing.

John my heart goes out to you. I can't even imagine finding out someone you knew so well...you didn't really know at all. I'm with you in the thought that just because you were raised in a terrible way doesn't mean you can't turn it around and to the opposite with your own children. Some people are stronger and able to turn it around...others just can't do it I guess. Anyway...just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and thank you for being you.
