  1. Frustrating to say the least--- What is going on here?? Is this due to the new format?? Seems like everytime I have tried to go to chat in the past few months its either down or having problems and like the above posters have said a lot of people depend on Live chat for questions and support---- it would be nice to know in advance if its going to be down and for how long.
  2. I could have written this post myself----Had fill last Monday after being totally unfilled in October after a slip and felt some great restriction for about 5 days then over the weekend NOTHING was starving and could eat anything and everything--- it does get discouraging but I am going to try to hang in there till the first of the year and if I still feel this way I am going in for another fill----- I have yet to hit my "sweet spot" and I will be 1 year out on 12/18 Do you think some people just never reach their sweet spot??? I would have thought I would have reached my goal long before now but I guess all we can do is keep trying.
  3. Since things seem to change weekly for me I will tell you what I can't eat this week lol Bread, Pancakes, Muffins, anything soft and doughy, chicken if it is dry, Steak--- never been able to tolerate even if it is really tender or rare, Most Pasta's, but I have had angel hair pasta with no problem guess it depends on what kind of sauce is on it if its an oil based sauce like pesto seems to go down ok or anything with olive oil but alfredo sauce not so much
  4. OMG so do you get high off this crap or what??? :blushing: The things we learn on lap band talk!!! lol
  5. Unfortunately that has not been the case for me either, in fact I think its even worse since surgery
  6. YAY for U!!! Nothing strange about getting excited about being in Onederland I was just as excited when I got there!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
  7. Congrats Froggy I think I am beginning to understand mine as well only took me 5 months but hey better late than never lol I too was hung up on numbers of cc's but now I realize its so different for everyone that they really don't matter. I also thought puking was going to be a daily part of life for me but now that I had an unfill a few weeks ago I am finally feeling good restriction and haven't puked since!! I am beginning to like my band much better now too!!! So anyone having regrets hang in there it eventually all makes sense even if it takes a while!!
  8. Wow Jessica you poor thing and I thought I was having a bad month!!! Hope you have nothing but good luck from now on!!!
  9. Meg you are doing awesome!!! Great Job!!!!
  10. Oh wonderful so I am getting on a plane in 2 weeks and was thinking I only had to worry about getting stuck, pb'ing or sliming when I got there Now I have to worry about setting off security as well??? WTF?? lol :w00t:
  11. I told 2 of my 4 sisters (the ones that I thought could handle it, and not try to talk me out of it LOL) Then I told 4 of my Best Friends and thats it. These are people that I know have my best interest at heart and would never judge me for it. I told no one in my husbands family because none of them have or ever had a weight problem, and never will understand why you can't just "go on a diet and lose weight on your own". It is definitely a personal choice of who you tell but those are the people I felt most comfortable knowing!!
  12. John you look AMAZING!!! Congratulations that is definitely cool beans!!!
  13. Well the reason I am debating this is right now it is so touch and go for me anyway I mean one day I can eat chicken the next day I am puking it back up like this morning I got sick on a protein bar but last week I could eat anything and everything so if I felt that I even knew at this point what I could eat and what I couldn't it wouldn't even be an issue ya know?? Plus I have heard from people that the band tightens up while flying so if that is the case then I would get there and wouldn't be able to eat anything and be miserable. I really don't think it would be starting a trend cuz I have made it through Xmas. New Years Valentines Day Easter and never even thought of having an unfill for any of those occasions just want to be able to go on this trip and not have that in the back of my mind the entire time!
  14. Wow Nat sorry that really does suck but I wonder if whoever said you might have a leak could be right I mean why would this guy do phantom fills it would only make him look bad right??? Also I totally agree with going to NP for fills that is who has done mine since day one they have lots more time with you to address concerns or problems. Hopefully this new surgeon is better for you!!
  15. lol chicalynn that probably would be the smart choice but I have not told many of these people that will be there about the band and don't feel like making excuses for why I am not eating much plus I can stick on my plan the rest of the year but this weekend I don't want to worry about it anyway just pondering the idea now but probably won't have the nerve to ask anyway LOL I can imagine nurses/doctors probably wouldn't think it was the best idea anyway
  16. Going on a Trip first week of June and seeing a bunch of people I have not seen since my lb sugery. This weekend is going to be lot a lot of eating and drinking and I really don't want to risk getting stuck or sick while I am there and still want to be able to have a few things that I normally would not be able to eat sooooooo.......My question is has anyone ever asked for an unfill before they have gone on vacation or a trip just to be able to enjoy themselves and how did your surgeon/nurse react if you asked them???
  17. WOWZERS--- This is my biggest fear since being banded-- puking, pb'ing or sliming in public I have told my hubs and daughter to go without me so I don't have to deal with it, which is kinda sad, but to look at the bright side its saving us money buying one less meal!!
  18. OMG Coco this happened to me over the weekend I was in the grocery store and all of the sudden I thought I was going to faint. I am diabetic so I was thinking it was my blood sugar levels dropping but I wonder if it wasn't my blood pressure too because I had eaten breakfast right before I went to the store but that was SCARY  I kept thinking please just let me get out of here standin up. Let us know what your doctor says.
  19. Tifanny LMAO----I went to the mall with my daughter 3 weeks ago and same thing happened to me Thank goodness I had jeans on to keep those suckers from droppin to my ankles:eek: Guess its time for some new undies or we could just go commando till we get to goal!!
  20. Whillow GURRRRL, you are doin AWESOME!! Bet your Dad won't even recognize you!!! congrats!!!
  21. sorry but your post made me lol and not because you had to go through what you did but I too crave pancakes, waffles, french toast anything with bread but am scared ch it less to try any of these in a restaurant for fear of what may happen, I mean its one thing to have an "episode" at home so I don't know what I would do if I had to have one in a public restroom. :frown:Thanks for convincing me not to try any of these when I am out.
  22. Way to Go Catherine you look GREAT!!! I can only imagine how wonderful that feeling is!!! :smile2:
  23. Banded 12/18/09 and down between 35-37 lbs my weight has fluctuated back and forth 2 lbs over the last couple weeks so hopefully I will finally get to onderland by next week WOOT  :cursing: I have 5 cc's in a 10 cc band!!
  24. :smilielol5: Ginger so sorry that you are going thru this but I completely understand. I told my husband for weeks before surgery do not tell one single person in your family (long story but have experienced similar experiences with my SIL and MIL with the weight thing) I even told him on the drive to the hospital on surgery day if I die during this procedure please tell your family I was having gall bladder surgery LOL So, I am hoping that they never find out but ya know what, if they do I will say I had this surgery for my health and it is working great don't ya think?? I have never been healthier in my life. If they continue to question why you did it then just say obviously so and so this is way over your head but if you would like I can send you some literature so you can understand it better and if they need to lose a few lbs, which who can't, then you can get your jab in by saying maybe you should look into it I am sure all that yo yo dieting can't possibly be good for you.
