Do I need a FILL two weeks later

Here is the thing, I just got banded 2 weeks ago on this Monday, at first I felt alot of restriction but now I can drink a whole bottle of water or even eat oatmeal and not feel restricted. Does this mean that I need a fill alread. I called my doctor and asked if my band was filled when it was put in and he said that he did fill it, so why do I not feel restriction. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY BAND, I have lost about 12lbs. since surgery, I would do it all over if I had to!! How can you tell when you need a fill and how soon after surgery can you get one. My first follow up is on Tuesday with my surgeon, Dr. Chaudry.:think

This is a time for healing, most fills are not until about 6 weeks out. You will not have restriction just follow the after diet you doctor recommends. Good Luck

You don't need a fill, Vanesa! I have only felt restriction once when I took a bite of soft bread. Otherwise, two weeks out, I am now eating soft foods and not feeling anything. I do feel full, however, very quickly and am eating much smaller portions than I ever have.

I am now 14 lbs. down (post-op) as of this morning, and I was banded 3 days before you. YAY! Just keep doing what you are doing and remember that you need to stop eating before you feel full and wait for the full feeling to kick in. You've lost 12 pounds- you are right on track!

You know, I was actually thinking the same thing because of the fact that I can put down more food now when I eat. I figure it was because the swelling has gone down since the surgery...could that be why?? My family and I went to eat the other night at IHOP and I had a veggie omelette, I had half of it and took the rest home but while I was there I was able to eat some grits with it...Does that sound right? I mean, I am still losing but I am eating more than before. I guess when I see my doctor this week I'll find out if I need a fill or not...we shall see!!!

Thank you for your replies, I am glad that I'm not the only one that feels this way. I guess I'll find out this week with my doctor if I need a fill or not. I kinda want to have a fill just to make sure I DON'T OVER EAT!!!!!! Besides that, I love the fact that I had this done and I know I am on a journey to losing WEIGHT. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE THAT IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING I FEEL. :(
