Luckily i can say never experienced any pain after my surgery. However, I was not allowed protein drinks that soon. You should stick to clear liquids, and wait til you get realeased to full liquids

  • I believe the rule of thumb for all of us patiens of Dr. Aceves was Clear liquids 10 days..(yes it was hard), then cloudy for 10 days (this is where I'm at now) and then adding in pureed foods smushie

I am 5 day post op. The pain in the hospitol was unbearable. Getting in and out of the bed was horrible. I was fine as long as I laid still. It was difficult to drink but now I am tolerating protein drinks, clear liquids, cream soups. The key is taking small sips and waiting a minute or 2 between each. My doc also is allowing yogart, pudding etc but I eat very little of it. I add protein powder to my soups.

All of a sudden I feel much better. My stomach makes crazy gurgling noises but really no pain. I apply a heating pad in the evening.
