Returning to Work??

I have not yet been approved for surgery, but I am curious how long I can plan to be out of work? I am just trying to plan for the best!

I had my surgery Dec 1st on a Wednesday. I went back to work the following Wednesday. I work from home for an insurance company answering calls and processing claims. I flexed working for 10's. I did get tired very easily that first week working only 3 days. My husband had surgery on March 30, another Wednesday and went back to work the following monday but only work 4 hours a day for that week. It all depends on how you feel. I had to go as anything beyond 7 days I had to go to short term disability which would have been a cut in pay and I just couldn't afford that. Good Luck.

Something to think about is how will you prepare your food and can you take the time to eat multi times during the day. I went back after a week and I work from home so I have everything here- a blender, lots of bowls, spoons, protein , etc. If you go to work think about how you will be able to have what you need to make the food and the time to eat it.

I took 3 weeks and I am glad I did...i couldnt imagine returning on Monday....i have a primarily desk job but someone is always asking me to help them with something or I have meetings to go to and I just need one more week of rest.

Also i start purees on Sunday (was originally scheduled to start on my first day back to work) and this gives me a week or so of adjustment time to "eating' with my new stomach.
