Approved!

OMG, pinch me; I'm dreaming! I just hung up with the appeals service center. My claim was overturned; I have been approved for Lap-Band surgery! :clap2: All I need now is a date.

I'm sitting at my desk at work and can barely contain myself! I'm dying to jump up and down a scream to the top of my lungs! :D

Thank you everyone! Kim, if I can wait this long to get through the insurance process, what's a little longer for a surgery date?

Angie, I agree with Kim, please let us know if you get a date too :) ... or would you like for us to fix you up with one?

Hmmm, Hey I have only dated one person in my LIFE! So yeah maybe a blind date would be fun. :) THE JERK, sorry a bit bitter right now, has taken his wedding band off!!!! I was so Pissed off last night it wasnt funny! Life goes on and God works in mysterious ways, right? This was his doing and he is going to help me find a wonderful person. I totally agree with that. Thanks girls! Karen I am still so happy for you! I can't wait to hear you have a date. WOOT!!!!

Angie

Melissa, I'm always open to new Protein shake ideas. My personal favorite (so far) is chocolate Protein powder with 1 TBSP of natural peanutbutter blended into 1 cup ice Water.

Thanks Randy! Yes, I'll get to do liquids, mushies, & PB with everyone else soon :)

Ok so I don't have any more news for you...but I can say it's on Dr. V's desk and I didn't even think of it...I don't want you banded until June - that will be my year and we can be have the same band month....

Which don't shot looks like what is't going to be....I may know more tomorrow.

Amen Angelu! I have UnitedHealth Care thru Wachovia Bank. My average BMI hit in the 35-40 range, and I don't have diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease; so I was initially denied coverage. I do, however, have seven other conditions that would be improved if not cured by weight loss. Fortunately, one appeals letter and the denial was overturned. Now I just need a date. :D

Yay, persistance pays off. I know you must be so excited. Thanks for the encouragement while I am getting through this first week. I have lost about 14 pounds but I am sure some of this had a lot to do with the vomiting issue. Stay in touch with this forum and they will walk you through any problems. Get those one ounce cups they truly keep you in touch with your limits. I thought the sipping cups would do it but it's much more apparent what your intaking by just using those small plastic one oz. cups, easier for you to limit over drinking and watch the every fifteen minutes. I now pour everything into that cup and turn on the fifteen minute timer, has made a world of difference.

Got some diarehha issues right now, but working on it!

I am happy with my decision even though a couple of setbacks, love the feeling I am getting help with controlling my weight.
