I hope this doesn't offend, but you might want to stop looking for friends on Craigslist - that's usually not a great place to find quality people.

It's backwards in our family. I've lost more than my sleever husband (around 157 total from my highest--he's down around 120 from his highest)--he had his done in April 2010; mine was April 2011. Yeah, so who gets the raves? Him! LOL And he eats it up!! I get my share of "oh my gosh, I didn't recognize you's," but he gets the "Wow, you're looking GREAT's!"
I will say it's pretty fantastic to both be smaller and healthier. I totally "get" what you mean with the hugging thing. My husband's arms go all the way around me, as in, he can touch his own shoulders after wrapping his arms around me--it's really strange and really great, but it's very different from pre-op. We talk about this being 'Rob and Meg 2.0," like upgraded models. :-)

At least you ate the protein!!!!!!!!

I have several Bariactric family members and soon to be one myself. I was in church yesterday when I thought of this.
While taking communion at church, I realized that bariactric patients are the only people that can take communion and get full. LOL. I could be the only person who thinks its funny, but I had a big smile on my face during that part of the service and everybody else was looking all serious.

I guess I would rather mourn food that have my family prematurely mourn me.

Do not let someone else talk you out of being healthy and having a much needed procedure for your future. This is necessary. If you do not have the surgery and do not lose all the weight they will be watching you slowly die and not even realize it.

Hang in there - the first couple weeks are the most difficult -you'll start dropping weight soon.

Trust me after 14 days you will lose weight. I am on day 11 and I am down 16 pounds.

I did a liquid pre-op for about week and a half and gained a pound. :/ My doc said my liver was small and perfect, so I guess it worked out after all. He said my body was fighting to keep it's fat because it thought I was starving.

Your body is probably holding on because it thinks it's starving. Don't worry

Probably not..dont feel bad..i am sure u will do great. Think and stay positive..try drinking lots of water.
