  1. I have a hard time with pills too. I thought it was just me! If at all possible, try taking your meds later in the day, instead of first thing in the morning. That helps me a lot. Also, taking meds with warm drinks def help too! Son't let the pill sit and feel like it is burning in your throat, bc you can get a "chemical" burn that way. It is not fun, know from experience.... Good luck!
  2. I was banded in Aug 2011, and I def exercise a lot more now than I did before! I am a lot more active in general around the house and in the yard. I love to walk at the park. I def don't do enough strength training. I did not exercise much before surgery and i dont think it affected my healling at all.
  3. One thing that I like a lot is the Special K protein packets that you mix with bottled water. The strawberry kiwi is awesome! Also, I have def been lovin' me some lemonade with splenda! Hope this helps!
  4. I joined a gym yesterday also! I have been walking on the elliptical 2 to 4 days a week, but had not been doing very much strength training, so started it full force yesterday! And man was I sore today! But it is a good sore! One that makes you feel like you accomplished something! Good luck to everyone that has started this big step in their new life!!
  5. I walk on the elliptical, hike, or walk usually 2 to 4 times a week. Just recently started to add strength training to the mix. Trying to do at least 3 days a week of weights! Good luck! Hope this helps!
  6. yep...indention describes it very well. And it does look kinda bruised around it now, even though it is not painful. Thanks for the feedback! I just wanted to make sure I was healing "normal"!!
  7. I was banded 08/18/2011. I'm healing great, but I have a strange question that I haven't been able to find the answer to. At the top of my port incision spot, it looks like my skin is kinda sunk in. Idk if it from the swelling that is still lingering on the inside or what. It doens't hurt, just looks a little strange...Has anyone else noticed anythign like this?!?!
  8. I was also banded on 8/18, and have been starvin' the past couple of days! I went back to work yesterday, and was so weak, I only made through half the day. I'm suppose to be on clear liquids for 2 weeks, then full liquids 2 more weeks, but I was so weak. Yesterday, I mixed about 1/4 of a protein shake with water and it seemed to help with the weakness some. Hope this helps.
  9. When I had my "nurses teach" before surgery, they gave me a 1\2 cup measuring cup and said I should be eating this amount 3 times a day. Also, sipping water throughout the day.
  10. I had my surgery yesterday, so last nite was my first nite home too. I'm not in nearly as much pain as I was expecting. I slep on my side a lot of the nite, with a pillow around my tummy. I slept fairly well like that.
  11. I started my pre-op diet Thursday, and I am struggling too!! And I'm only doin "high protein, low carb", but the no bread and pasta is killing me!!! I have been approved for surgery, but do not have my date yet!
