  1. My caffeine withdrawal headache is beginning to subside, and I can't tell you how weird it is to try to start a new habit. It must be working, b/c I went to the dietician yesterday for my pre-opt education and have already lost 5 pounds. What a way to start the process! I have 13 days until my surgery, and a new life awaits me on the other side!
  2. Hi Lori! I also live in your area and I am using Dr. Nick. He is great and you will really like him. My surgery is set for May 25th. If you are in he area Wednesday night, you need to go to the support group around 6. You will find a great atmosphere of many in your same shoes or were there at one time. Let me know if you need any info.
  3. My last meal was last night, and it included Mexican food, too! So far so good on my pre-opt diet; however it is just day 1. I met w/ the dietician today, and very overwhelmed by the info given. I guess the most important thing I gained was Protein, Protein, and Protein. Am I missing anything?
  4. Hi everyone! I am going strong w/ no more carbonated drinks, especially DP. I start my pre-opt diet tomorrow, and thought I would start my decaf trip late Saturday. So, my question is when does the caffeine withdrawal headache go away??? I have had it for two days!
  5. Thanks everyone for the information. I have been w/o for 3 days, and going strong. I really think the craving is in my head. I feel horrible after drinking one, but I still drink them. This is the motivation that I need.
  6. I will admit it right now, after the way the stock market gave me a mild heart attack, I will have one on my way home. I will not have another one after that, I promise. I will report back to let you know my progress so I can be accountable. Thanks for your help...
  7. Okay, I admit it... I am addicted to Dr. Pepper. I am trying to ween myself off of them before I start my pre-opt diet on Tuesday, but I am having trouble. I have a very stressful career that I love, but D.P. is my release. (I am a financial planner & wealth mgr. and the market is down A LOT! :cursing:) So, I am trying to substitute it with Crystal light and tea which seems to be working. :wink0: However, I fell off the wagon this morning. So, what I want to know is what exactly happens when you have a carbonated drink after the sleeve. I am hoping the visualization gives me the motivation to STOP COLD TURKEY! :001_tongue: HELP!
  8. My surgery is scheduled for May 25th, and it can't get here fast enough.
  9. I will be at the June one, recovering from my surgery as well... keep me up to date on your progress. Good Luck!
  10. What an inspiration! Congrats on your success, and I hope you continue your journey for life!
  11. Glad to see so many Dr. Nick patients on here! Lots of resources for me... Good luck everyone... I start my pre opt diet on the 11th...
  12. I would really like to get a group together in the DFW area. We could meet once a month or more, exchange contact info, etc. It would really help to have others to contact to help get through every stage of this incredible process. Of course, we could meet and walk too.
  13. I went last month, and it was great... very informative, and very supportive. Many there have already had one type of surgery, and they are extremely helpful to those who have not. I will need a confidence booster on the 12th since I start my pre opt diet on the 11th! I am so excited, I can hardly wait!
  14. I am scheduled on May 25th w/ Dr. Nick. I am also local... My primary physician actually used him and highly recommended him and his staff. I am so excited that their are so many others in the area that I can relate to. Anyone attending the monthly support group at Baylor?
  15. Thanks everyone for the insight. My consult is Thursday, and I will find out what my doctor recommends. I will do whatever he says to do. I just need some motivation to stay on track! I love this site... so informative on "ALL" topics!
  16. Well, I am officially no longer a "Lurker"! I have read numerous posts from so many different people, and it is so inspirational. I have to say, after reading so many posts, I truly am more concerned about the liquid diet pre-opt than I am the actual surgery. Is that normal? I am very anxiously awaiting my consult on Thursday. I am ready to start the process. Anyone else from the DFW area? Just curious!
