Hey everyone! I'm so new, I'm still shiny! At least I don't have that 'new car' smell, right?

Anyway, I'm qualified through my insurance for the Lapband procedure, but have just begun jumping through the hoops. I'm from Illinois, and am insured by Health Alliance (secondary -BCBS). I have to complete an "I Can Change" program through my insurance prior to surgery which includes a diet/exercise program (I can do Weight Watchers) for 6 months, so my surgery date will be more like September or October. Either way, I want to get integrated into this community so I have a support structure in place.

So... about me - I'm 31, married for almost 9 years, and have a 3 year old daughter, Cora. I teach high school French and love love love my job. I am also the drama director for our school. I love to travel, and this summer will be taking students on a 10 day tour of Dublin, London, and Paris.

I guess that's a good enough introduction for now... I hope to hear from some of you and connect with you soon.

Best of luck!

Tina

Hi there carotgirl. I'm glad you don't have "new car" smell, since that would make me look bad (I have a "'74 El Dorado" smell......and frankly, it isn't pleasant).

The ol' 6 month diet requirement, eh? It sucks, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right (Hey.....you aren't going to mark up my reply with red ink are you)?

So, welcome to the site, and feel free to browse around and mingle with everybody....but don't touch anything! We just had it cleaned.

You know, I'm one of those teachers that abhors red ink. I use only EVER blue, and fine point at that. And I promise not to correct mistakes, (unless they're blatant and unforgivable.)

Cheers, and thanks for the welcome.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
