Though times

Had surgery on the 27 and today im struggling, cant stand the broth (makes me nauseous) and just thinking about the protein makes me moody... i am keeping up with the liquid intake but is mostly water... im assuming everyone goes through this, what did you do to get over this bump on the road?

I have been in your shoes but you have to get your daily protein. Try drinking fairlife milk (higher in protein), adding nonflavored protein powder to broth or other liquids. I don't want to sound too harsh but many of us just had to put our big pants on and down protein drinks even if we hated them. Trust me, it gets better and this stage doesn't last long!

Again, sorry if I was harsh. You can do this!! It gets easier trust me. I'm 11 weeks post procedure and in the first couple of weeks I asked myself more than once "Why in the "bleep" did I do this?" However, the protein shakes don't taste as bad as what the extra pounds felt! Before you know it, you will be eating the best scrambled eggs ever.

It gets better.

In the first 2 weeks after surgery, I barely took in any calories. I was lucky if I could finish 1/4 of a serving of protein shake in a DAY (with nothing else). I wasn’t hungry and the thought of eating/drinking anything other than warm water make me want to yak.

By end of week 3 it got better, and slowly got even better from there.

Try to hang in there, its really just a small blip of annoyance in the grand scheme of things...and you get to drop some serious poundage in the process (which hopefully you will be super grateful for later) ❤️

Good Luck!
