5:2 Folks!

I know you guys have your own group but figured you guys would read posts here - I just watched Michael Mosley's PBS special Eat, Fast, and Live Longer and it was great. I know it is on a few times this week on my local PBS station. Taping his next show which is called the Truth About Exercise. Here is a link http://video.pbs.org/program/michael-mosley/

Rofl! I was reading one of the articles on Hugh Jackman and his IF/Leangains training program getting ready for The Wolverine - my husband sees the article and immediately flexes and puffs up lol. He wants to know if he looks like him :) I told him his workout schedule is good but he needs a lot more protein to put on that much muscle. I don't know if my hubby would leave if he showed up at our house - I think we would both pick his brain about fitness...and If Emily Blunt showed up heck even I might kick my husband out ;)

The only consumption issue I have with my own 16/8 schedule is that I like a cup of French press coffee with a teaspoon of sugar - early. I also think it will get easier when the new semester starts and I have classes that start early and I have early commitments other days of the week.

Well, I've got the 16/8 thing down 28.5% of the time :). 2/7 days! But I really try to not eat after 7 or 8 anyway. I might try the skipping breakfast part. I've been eating much later on my fast days anyway and some morning not eating early anyway to see if it makes any difference in bounce or weight loss. Pretty happy with what has been happening with my current 5:2 program . It has seemed to really define my body shape and shape some too. I an am "apple" and tend to carry most upper body weight. No butt or thighs but always had a double chin and I've seen the shape of my face really slim out over the last couple months.

Georgia, THAT is interesting about your face. I didn't really twig at the time, but now I realize that two people have asked me if I've lost weight...cos my face looks thinner to them. I can't see a difference but all this fasting must be doing SOMETHING if not moving the scales!! Lol

As to fasting, I'm semi doing the 16/8 thing anyhow, as long as coffee with cream doesn't count as eating...? I am not a Breakfast person anyhow.

BtB - I like fasted workouts too, mine are always such cos I work out early in the morning. But also in fast days per se sometimes as well. I don't find it to be a problem at all, and it helps curb the unconscious eating of more calories that is possible after a workout, according to research I've read.

What is 5:2??

5:2 fastdiet or alternate fast days of 500 calories twice a week (2) and other 5 of week normal calorie range. For those who are farther out from surgery or in maintenance. You can google it and get or watch the info. Pretty cool. Working for me. Good luck.
