I don't live in Louisiana so I don't know anything about your insurance. However, why don't you go on their website and look up their policy yourself? I have Empire BC of NY and they have a specific medical policy on bariatric procedures. Your government insurance probably has the same thing - a medical policy on bariatric procedures. Some insurance do not cover these procedures and others, like mine, require you to meet specific criteria based on your BMI or some other factor. You should get your information yourself so you know it is correct. It was a long process for me. I was originally denied by Empire for my band procedure but won approval on the medical appeal that was coordinated through my doctor's office.
