  1. Awesome news! Good luck with your journey!
  2. I am having similar symptoms. I have no fluid in the band, I can not keep hardly anything down. I also have acid reflux and heartburn too much. I am having surgery in the morning. My dr is going to remove the band, hopefully repair a hiatal hernia and if he can put another band in place. More than likely he will not be able to put in the new band. I wish you all the best and hope the cancer cells are removed and that you get healthy..
  3. I haven't posted in a while. I've lost 65 pounds to date, slow and steady. A pound here and a pound there. I eat healthy and get some exercise. Most of which is yard work this summer. We have many hills on our property. I have some trouble with fluid in the morning. I also had problems with acid and heart burn so my Dr put me on Nexium. This has helped. I would like to step up the process so my husband and I are joining a local YMCA. I will keep you all posted. Any suggestions I would love to hear from all our Bunny Bandsters!
  4. Lea, Congratulations. That isn't too far off! What did you think of Dr. Kerlakian? You will love the nurses at Good Sam, they are the best and they treat you with kid gloves too. This is a great and positive step in your life and one you will not regret. If I can help in any way let me know.
  5. Leah01, I have had the Lap Band since 4/9/09. It took about 5 weeks for approval from my insurance. As soon as the insurance was approved it was up to me how soon I wanted the Lap Band. The doctor is pleased with my progress I have lost about 30 pounds which to date is about 2 pounds a week. The healing took around 5 or 6 weeks. Good luck and if i can be of any help please let me know.
  6. Has anyone in the Cincinnati area had LapBand Surgery with Dr Kerlakian. I would recommend Dr Kerlakian to anyone interested in having the procedure.
  7. I thought carbonated beverages are not allowed even after 12 weeks? I will have to go back and look at my nutritional work sheets. I did not drink them to begin with so no big deal for me. Murphy
  8. livin healthy, Hang in there it will get better! You are doing the right thing and before long "this to shall pass." I will say a prayer for you! Murphy
  9. Hi Lisa, I am glad you found this website. It has been helpful to me also. There are many forums I was banded yesterday morning and like you, I had no complcations, all went textbook. I am a little sore but truly nothing I can't handle. I will look forward to reading you posts and congratulations on the 50 pounds lost! Murphy
  10. thetig, the thing you didn't check was shaving your legs. :=) Are you allowed to wear your bra or do you have to let the girls out? I am having surgery the 9th and I am wondering about these things. By now you have had surgery and I hope all went as planned. Good luck and get "r' done Murphy

I saw the doctor yesterday and he gave me the date of April 9th for surgery. He mentioned not wanting me to get discouraged because on the average Banders will only keep 1/3 of the total over weight amount off. Is this true for anu of you?
