I see you wrote you think you are hungry... just because you now have a band Doesnt mean your head has chamges they didn't reset your brain. Although that would be so helpful! Lol We have all had problems with obesity and over eating that's how we got here!!
I promise you will be just fine your head is just stickin to old habits. it takes a little time to adjust to the change. It took me a while to know when I was really hungry or if I was still just thinking I should be eating because that's what I normally would have been doing.

everything seems fine aside from some upper back and chest gas pains... have a heating pad on my back and just took a chewable gasx so hopefully that will help.. Any advice, suggestions appreciated!

I am set for surgery on 9/4 as well!!! Have you started your pre-op diet yet? I'm sorry you are feeling nervous, I will probably be at some point. Right now I am just EXCITED. Being excited just sounds weird when you're talking about surgery?!

I think its really frustrating when people make these kind of comments, even though they may be well-meaning. especially medical professionals! I had a nurse at pre-testing (for my gallbladder removal) remark that she couldn't believe I was having the surgery as I wasn't "that big"... I swear to god I could have socked her right in the face!

I bet most of them don't have a weight problem. That's my favorite when thin people have all the answers on weight when they've never struggled.

Although my appt is September 25th I am anxious and nervous. More excited of course. I am ready to change my life and become healthy and happy. I wonder how many fills it took for everyone to get there band right for them. I am concerned I'll have to keep going back and wont lose the amount of weight. Also there are worries that I'll need to change my ways of eating. I'll need to Basically be on a diet of protein and low sugar foods. I know drink mostly water. I heard its ok to drink sport drinks like powerade or Gatorade okay? Or juice like Snapple or just strictly water? Because I have a real hard time drinking just water! I may get a food list I can use but what does everyone eat that is helpful?? Since I'm posting this in pre-op surgery people haven't had surgery yet maybe some people know what's best to eat?

Heading to the hospital now!! I am doing good! Not so nervous! My only complaint is having a dry mouth. I want y'all to know how wonderful it is to come here and get the overwhelming and continued support! Bless y'alls hearts! Excited to read about y'alls surgery! I'll give an update this afternoon. I don't consider myself a "success story" yet, because I have a long way to go until my goal, and a lot to learn. But I wanted to share one way in which my life has completely changed since my weight loss.
I stopped going to theme parks about 4 years ago due to being repeatedly turned away from rides because of my size. However, yesterday I went to a theme park for the first time in years and was able to fit on EVERY SINGLE RIDE! I rode a rollercoaster!!! No more panic attack waiting to see if the bar would fit over my stomach or if I could squeeze into the seats. It was a dream come true for me. Here I am yesterday:

Little things like this make the hard work worth it.

Oh and I went from a size 20 to a size 8!

Was at a dunkin donuts and couldn't make a good decision so I walked away! Most people wouldn't understand why I would be happy about this since I was in line for five minutes but I thought you guys might!

Well yesterday was my post op appt. it went very well, dr said my incisions are healing and I did great my first week. I lost 8 lbs the first week, 52 more to go. I can start going to the gym and hit the treadmill and slowly start introducing a little more foods into my diet. I go back on the 6th of August for my first fill. Hope everyone is doing great!

I so thought it was going to be that you were pregnant.

I have so many, but one of the main ones (that I experienced today) is not getting a painful rash on my inner thighs from them rubbing against each other when I walk. Especially in the heat, when I am wearing a skirt with no stockings! Ugh!!
