How many cc's do you have? How many fills so far?
I have had 3 fills and I have 7.5cc in my 10cc band. Unfortunately, I'm not at the sweet spot yet, I can still eat a lot. But I have lost around 37lbs total so far and I'm happy with that! Good Job Guys!!

Got my first fill today!
 Eileen, I'm so so sorry about your experiences. Just hang in there. Someone will be able to help you. What does your surgeon say?

Got my first fill today!
Eileen, I'm so sorry about your experience!! I had a great experience. They sprayed a numbing solution on my skin so I didn't feel the needle go in, and they did it in front of the xray so they could see liquid going through the band. I have 6cc's in and I have never had any trouble with it at all. Hopefully you will get a better nurse this time!!

Tomorrow is my first fill!
My fill went fine also. I got to watch the liquid go through the band in my stomach on the xray machine. That was pretty cool. I got 6cc's!!! should_be_working, I live in Franklin, which is between Dayton and Cinci, so yes, we are pretty close to Mason!

I get my first fill at 4 weeks.

Lap Band or Realize?
I was asked which one I preferred and I said I didn't care. I didn't know until after my surgery, but he used the Realize band in me.

I'm HOME!!!!!
Congrats and welcome home.

So... got some work to do.
Congrats on your decision and motivation Jason. I pray that all goes well for you and you are able to lose as much as you want!! We will all still support you!! We are all in this weight loss journey together and there are many different ways to get there. Good Luck!!!

Your 1st goal and reward !!
Speaking of tatoos, I have a purple rose on my lower right side of my abdomen. From 3 pregnancies and all this weight it is all stretched out and has stretch marks through it. (My sister tells me it looks like a rose bush instead of a rose.) I'm hoping with all this weight loss it will shrink and look halfway normal again. :hurray:

Wish me luck...
MissK, glad to hear from you!! Hope your stay in the hospital is uneventful and that you can come home soon!

I am so sick of protein shakes!
I've been drinking the Isopure also. The only one I've tried is the Grape Frost. It isn't terrible. Of course, it's my first day post op so I haven't had it enough to hate it yet.

anyones insurance cover fills???
The cost of my surgery includes 2 years of after care. That is one of the reasons I went with this Surgeon. I really like him!!

I'm back!
Thanks guys! I'm actually feeling better. I wonder if the gas was making me feel nauseous instead of actually being nauseous if that makes any sense. I feel like I have a lot of pressure around my sternum. YAY! I'm so excited to join the Band wagon!!

I'm back!
I'm home after my surgery. Everything went fine and dandy. I actually have the Realize band and I had the "single" insision. The only trouble I"m having right now is that I'm really nauseous. But hopefully that will go away soon!

Wish me luck...
Good Luck!!! Can't wait to hear how you are doing!

I think I'm back!

Are they insensitive or am I over-sensitive?
I'm so sorry you have to go through that!! This has been rough on me because I HAVE to cook meals for my family that I can't eat. The other night I thought it would be a good idea to get pizza for them so I didn't have to cook. The smell was sooo overwhelming I told my husband I didn't think I could resist with a smell like that!! (Thankfully I did resist!) I think it is insensitive of them bringing KFC to your home where you can't eat it. Yes they have to eat, but they could have eaten at the restaurant, and, like you said, you offered to get them food at the store. They only thing I could see you doing different is laying down some rules before they get there. You don't want to seem insensitive, but right now you are trying to help yourself. They just don't understand what you are going through! Hang in there, one more day left!!

OMG!!!! I Finally feel like me...
I'm so glad you are feeling better. It shows me there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's a little scary when people post how bad they feel (I'm getting banded Monday). So thank you for posting that you are feeling better!

August BANDits weekly weigh-in
formerfatchick....262.........260 formerfatchick....262.........260 abbypoo............275.........266 jennyr1222........265.........263.........260 missK...............241..........231........228 morphiend.........238..........229........222 Tripletmomma.....327 Allison, I have heard that is very normal. I bet you could check out the general message boards and find a lot of info on it. Here is one quote I found on the general message boards... " During this time you are not only healing but you're not able to do a lot of things like exercising. Also, from what I understand they pumped about 10 lbs worth of liquids into us and that will fall off of you within the next couple of weeks. Don't be worried about not showing the weight loss this soon after your surgery, it will happen. Watch all the calories in any liquids you drink as they can be really sneaky in pushing up your intake. Also, some drinks like gatoraide have sodium in them. Watch your sodium intake too. It will happen. "

Start the Pre-op Diet Tomorrow!!
Good Luck on the preop diet!! MissK gave you lots of good advice. The only thing I would add would be to keep busy. And be prepared because the first 3-4 days are pretty miserable, but you can do it!!

Hospital - hints & tips?
You may want to add shampoo and soap. When I was in the hospital after having my first daughter I didn't have any shampoo and all they could find me was baby shampoo. Boy was I glad to get home and get a real shower!! I got a call from a nurse yesterday with my surgery instructions. She said my surgery is at 1:30 and I would be in the car by 3 at the latest!! It's amazing how doctors differ on things like preop and post op diets and hospital stays!!

August 17th!
I'm going in on Monday too. It scares the hell out of me when I think about it. So I have been doing a lot of NOT thinking about it!! Of course I have been planning and shopping for stuff I will need afterwards, but trying not to think about how much pain I will be in. And I'm hoping I don't get depressed, or at least I can handle it. YIKES!! I already can't wait until the healing part is over!! Good Luck to everyone going in on Monday. I will be thinking about you!!
