I wonder what would happen if someone who was told "No" by their doctor ever tried the patches for 3 months and then went in to get labs?? Sometimes doctors push medications because there is a bonus in it for them. I am the type that would get my lab results back and watch my doctor talk about how good my levels are and the entire time I'm like ummmmmmm hmmmmm ...lol

Smooth move tea works— REAALLLLY WELL haha so be close to home for a few hours!! ?

Also be careful with the fruit- a lot of sugar so don’t eat it after surgery until cleared.

Good luck - it’ll be here before you know it!

Yes of course you can lose the weight... but can you keep it off?? She should not have told you that... she knew exactly what she was doing... smh. You'll be back in a year or 2 starting this journey over, wishing you had never listened to her.

A nurse shouldn't be passing on their personal opinion based on things they have seen, they have no idea of the patients' personal / medical history, they have no idea how compliant the person has or hasn't been post op. They Non-compliance could well have caused some of the issues they have supposedly seen. Talk to your doctor/surgeon about the concerns that she has caused you to have.
You have obviously considered WLS because you are overweight and its usually not a first choice for weight loss, so I would say you have tried and failed at various weight loss methods. What will you do to lose weight if not WLS?
I am sorry to hear about your friend, but was it confirmed that five years after WLS, that WLS causes the bowel obstruction.
At the end of the day, you have to do what is right for you and what you feel safe with, but you should research further with other medical staff - your doctor, bariatric surgeons etc.

Thank you all. I caved and ate like three bites of Hamburger Helper. I feel so guilty and ashamed of myself. I'm determined to make it to surgery day without another incident!!! Thank you for all the advice! And I'll definitely keep in mind that this is the worst part.

I am 2 weeks post op. Trust me when I tell you that if you can make it through day 3, then you have it. That is the worst day. Day 4 and 5 is much easier!!! Good Luck!

I would agree w that. My pre op diet doesn’t allow anything but liquids so I’m pretty effing hungry! I’m wrapping up day 5....3 to go. Arg!!!

I don't know of any way to make the hunger stop, but I can tell you this: day 3 is seriously the worst part. I hated everyone and everything that crossed my path on day 3. The first few days, actually, are completely miserable. BUT, it does get more manageable. If you can hang on a little longer, it's almost as if your body goes, "fine, whatever, do what you want" and sort of gives up on the headaches and crankiness and the worst of the hunger.
Which isn't to say that it becomes easy, but it becomes a bit less hard if you just hang in there. (And if you can make it until surgery, afterward hunger will not be a problem anymore.)
    Good luck!

Lol I work in law enforcement... don't do those water bags... water moves around... so the weight is not distributed evenly. I've seen those things break... the mess is brutal?... also... after a while... that "sitting water" smells bad... you can do a lot without equipment. Planks, pushups, sit ups, squats, sprinting up and down your hallway at home. Good luck and be well.

On Baritastic, you measure your waist, both thighs, both upper arms, hips, chest and neck. The lost inches is combined for all of those on the app. Not sure how others work. But A-ok with me! Nice to see 22 inches lost when I'm five weeks post op today and have only lost 16 pounds. [emoji6]
