I had coffee a week out. I was told it was a dieuretic and that cup for cup had to replace it with extra Water. Told the acid could be a problem... hasn't seemed so. So I drink one cup a day. I drink an extra cup of water for it. Sometimes two cups of coffee, and so on.
My nut gets a crinkly look in the area where the nose meets the eye brow line when we talk about coffee. Very much a painless discussion. And my surgeon??? He thinks if it doesn't bother my stomach, why make an issue of it.
Ummmmm. Coffee.

CraftyV got a reaction from MinaT in First Time (Tmi)Hi Mina, I stopped eating cottage cheese because whenever I had it for lunch, I felt extremely hungry before dinner.
As for the barfing, I might have ate too fast because I had skipped lunch and I must have been starving! I don't get the hunger feeling anymore so maybe my body was reacting to my hunger.
Thanks for responding Mina! I hope you feel better too.

CraftyV reacted to MinaT in First Time (Tmi)I'm over 2 months out and I had one ounce of chicken rolled with spinach and I'm about ready to do the same along with an ounce of cottage cheese. Every time I open my mouth my throat and stomach makes weird dinosaur noises and I wish I could throw up because I feel so bad. I ate about an ounce of cottage cheese for lunch today and I was hungry and not sure if I ate too fast or it was the tomato sauce on the chicken.
I hope you feel better soon.

CraftyV got a reaction from DZ1RMQ in What I Ate On Vacation (Sleeved July 2Nd)Hi Shannon, I will be going on a cruise 2.5 months out of surgery. I have been nervous about all the food that I will have access to. I am glad to hear you enjoyed yourself and at the end of the day that is all that matters (unless you hurt yourself I guess ). I plan on doing the same because I only vacation once a year and I'm just going to enjoy myself. I have learned that I cannot over do it because my sleeve won't let me. Best of luck to you! & good for you!!

CraftyV reacted to SleeveNoob in Oh Diet Coke, How I've Missed Thee...You can be knowledgeable and give great advice. my point is there are people who think they know it all and think they have room to be rude cuz someones not on their recovery path. I love getting advice from most people on here and I really love this forum. But those very few people who feel like every one should be doing what they are doing and when they don't they scold them. the last I noticed is not a single nut or surgeon have had their patients on the same exact recovery. I don't claim to know it all and I don't claim to be perfect...I eat and drink things I shouldn't very rarely but I still do it and my weightloss has been great. As I've said in other posts...be respectful and informative not judgmental and rude!

CraftyV reacted to misslisa810 in Oh Diet Coke, How I've Missed Thee...We have to each do what works best for us! I have been drinking regular coffee since day after surgery-can't function without it! I have cut down from 4 cups to 1-2, but given other things we could eat, coffee and diet coke don't seem that bad. There are a lot of changes going on, and we can't just go from our old eating habits to raw vegan, organic, etc over night! If someone wants a diet coke and she's ok with it, I say go for it!

I have not heard that before. Honestly, for me moderation and just not too soon.
TMeyers...can I just say I LOVE your picture. Such a beautiful, bright, happy smile!
Take care

CraftyV reacted to TMyers1471 in Has Anyone Gotten Ulcers From Drinking Coffee? My NUT told me that I could have caffeine free coffee before and after surgery. I am 9 weeks out and she now says that I can have my caffeine back in my coffee only. I asked her what the big deal is, and she said that the caffeine is basically dehydrating (sorry..can't remember her fancy medical term) and I will need to increase my water by one cup if I drink regular coffee. Oh darn. I'm more than willing to drink an extra glass of water for that coffee in the morning. lol.

No not at all, I tried to stop but I love the taste too much and I don't think it's caused by drinking coffee. .
