rhya2k reacted to pink dahlia in Compliment? I Think Not..,No disrespect intended, but................. to me looking "better" is just one of the many bonus's we all got with the band. Yes, we all got banded to get slimmer and healthier, but if you're going to lose excess weight you kind of have to expect that you're going to look "better." That just goes with the territory ! Diamonds rings are nice looking but when you have them cleaned and polished, they look even better ! Nothing wrong with the diamond in the first place, it just looks better when its polished. Well honey....................... you're a diamond too !!!!

rhya2k reacted to cbreeden28 in Really Scared To Get StuckI have gottens stuck more than I care to admit. The worst for me is the first week after a fill. You have to re-adjust your eating habits each time. Small bites, chew really well, and pause between bites. Getting stuck is like something heavy sitting deep in your chest and it can be painful. For me, my mouth begins to salivate really badly, I start to have air pockets come up my throat, and I get the hiccups. It's all my body's way to try and dislodge the food. In the beginning, I didn't recognize the early signs of being stuck and would continue eating until I was stuck so bad that I had to vomit it back up. Now, I can tell when something isn't going down right and I immediately stop eating and get up to walk around. It has helped a lot. I still sometimes end up having to force it back up, but for the most part, I can get it to go down. The one thing you never want to do is drink something. That will definitely come right back up so be near a toilet if you do it....

rhya2k reacted to twins4me2 in Really Scared To Get StuckI seem to get stuck if I eat when my kids are acting like brats, because I forget to chew my food really good before swallowing in between having to get on to them. 6 year old twin girls.

Well I feel that way, I feel good but I just have this annoying feeling that something is stuck! I was absolutely starving yesterday at work andy only option was some granola and milk. I had about 3 bites, I swear it's that, just sitting there. Any help or info and no lecturing please.

rhya2k reacted to melzie_99 in To Tell Or Not To Tell That You've Had Lapband Surgery Or Wls(Weight Loss Surgery)I still struggle with this one. I have been banded for almost a year and a half now and have lost a good chunk of weight (over 70lbs). Because of all the blood, sweat, and tears (literally) that have come with this journey, I am proud of what I have managed to accomplish. I have told a few select people about the surgery, and while most of the responses have been positive or neutral, I have met a few people who decided to give me the whole "you could've done it without surgery if you tried harder" speech. It makes me feel bad when I see others who have lost just as much weight if not more than me without surgical intervention, but I feel I made the best decision for me. That being said, I have chosen to pick and chose the people I share my story with.

rhya2k got a reaction from NWgirl in Gained Weight! Argh!!Yes water is a must and for me, the last fill just took all desire to eat and drink. My appt was today and my surgeon was totally thrilled with my 14 lbs and told me that for me, her ideal is 1-2 ls a week! So I left happy!!!! No fill today, next one in 8 weeks unless I need it sooner and I have 6.6 cc's in me! I didnt even know how much I had! Thanks for all the encouragement!

rhya2k reacted to elcee in Alcohol After The Lap BandWhen you eat less the alcohol will hit quicker. Also as your body weight drops it will take less alcohol before you are affected. So by all means have a drink or 2 but be very careful and make sure you do not inadvertently end up over the limit.
One of my worst experiences since having the band was when I drank too much wine at a friends. I woke up in the middle of the night with a headache and feeling like I wanted to hurl. Preband that is what i would have done - stuck my finger down my throat to speed the process up . Unfortunately vomiting post band is not so easy ( and it is not recommended either as true vomiting can cause the band to slip) so I had to suffer for far longer. Lesson learnt, I have not done it again.
